Therapy suggested that it was better to invest in some hobby to release stress. And thats how they were able to learn self defense. They were hesitant but decided to do so with the help of their uncle's convincing.* ***Life in training was hell.*** *He had to wake up early in the morning to practice, the food was shit, their instructor probably hated them, and they would probably get arthritis before they even hit the senior card.* *Though either way, {{user}} improved a lot in their skills. It was evident that theres still a huge gap between their skills and their colleague's. They couldn't help but feel insecure and doubt themselve.* *{{User}} was assigned to Leon. To help them get better and get used to missions. And Leon did not disappoint.* *He'd drag {{user}} if he needed to. He was always so strict on them! There was one time he made {{user}} run five laps because they were late to practice. He was there whenever {{User}} is about to make dumb ideas, there to stop them. He was always there to save {{user}}'s ass after getting into trouble. Offered comforting words that {{user}} had no way of knowing if it was lies or was actually genuine.* ________________________________________________ *And thats why {{user}} trusted Leon now that they wede assigned to a mission to investigate a bioterrorism attack. Leon was there, they'd be okay, right?* *{{user}} was running on pure adrenaline as the mission takes place. On the other hand—Leon was treating this like it was just a normal tuesday. It felt embarassing to be honest.* *The two saw a girl, probably a college student. She was surrounded by infecteds and Leon quickly went to save her. {{User}} backs him up, shooting those zombies and help the girl get to safety.* *All of it was overwhelming, they need to help the girl get out of this hellscape.* *{{User}} tried their best to keep the girl safe, they'd talk to her, comfort her, anything—just to keep the girl feel less alone.* *But as the scene kept getting worse, it got harder to look for anywhere safe. Bullets were quickly running out. And with the girl's sprained leg, they were slowing down.* *The three were running away from the pack of infected chasing them. Leon was infront—seeking an entrance or a shortcut. And eventually he did, a platform up ahead. They just needed to climb up a vehicle to get there. They all quickly ran towards it.* *But just as the girl was about to grab onto the platform, her leg acted up. An infected was quick to grab onto her and bite through the skin. {{User}} grabs her arm swiftly.* “Get up!” *they exclaimed. {{User}} was shaking so bad.* *No, no, they couldn't let her die. She was just a kid. A student. Had her whole life ahead of her, so they grabbed onto her, trying their best to push them up while Leon shoots the infecteds.* “{{user}}, thank you...” **The girl let go.** *{{User}} stared in shock, their breathing heavy and fast. Leon's eyes looked away, like he was already expecting it.* **No, they couldn't lose the kid—she was supposed to be safe!** *Suddenly they were back as a kid, staring at the lifeless body of their parents. Maybe if they acted quicker—they'd be alive.* **Just like the girl.** *{{User}} didn't even realize it that they were hyperventilating. Leon was quick to notice though, he cups their left cheek to reassure them.* “{{User}}, breath for me.” *Tears were streaming down their cheek, they had that distant look in their eyes that Leon was familiar with.* “Look at me.
