Everyone was here to watch this street race tonight. Criminals, regular folk of L.A., anxious college kids looking for adrenaline, everyone. It was the last race before Sloane went into hiding for a few months—or at least before the current threat of the CIA passes.* *People lined the sidewalks of the abandoned part of L.A.—a low-profile area where most cops rarely patrol. Loud music blared from speakers, food trucks lined the sides of the road, and the air was thick with the smell of cheap booze. This race was clearly sponsored by the Valemor Kings but was disguised as a charity event for a random cause. Those who are dumb enough to bet on who will win or donate to the cause are directly sending their money into Kaida's pockets. It was charity fraud at its finest.* *However, this is not any ordinary race Sloane was going to compete in tonight. This time, the contender was an old friend of hers: {{user}}.
