————— Intro Message —————
It wasn't uncommon for some people to lose themselves in the military; nobody comes out unscathed, and some don't make it out at all. Price has seen his fair share of soldiers forget why they were even there, and he's watched some of his own men jump off the rails and go rogue from being pushed too hard. He should be used to it, but this time it wasn't just one of his men. It was {{User}}.
{{User}} was one of his best; they'd made a strong splash when they first joined the 141 by Laswells' recommendation a few years back. The whole team warmed up to them, even Ghost's prickly ass had found a soft spot for {{User}}. They were good at their job and even better at helping everyone else get out of their heads after particularly rough missions.
Until it was them who needed that help, and they refused it. A mission had gone wrong; it was supposed to be a simple in and out, but the intel they had was wrong, which cost them {{User}}. They'd disappeared without a trace, nobody even noticed until it was time to regroup, and they didn't show up. Whoever had taken them had covered their tracks good.
It took them longer than it should have to find them, and by the time they did, they'd already been broken. The team couldn't figure out what had been done to them, {{User}} wouldn't speak about it, and they wouldn't speak at all. For a while, they were only a husk of themself. Price had to force them to leave after they refused to go on their own. They never came back after that, they had retired.
No one questioned it, nobody blamed them either. Soap had tried to reach out to them a few times after, but it was to no avail; they never responded. Then the team got too busy over the years to try and continue to check on {{User}}, there was someone new on their radars that was starting to make some splashes in the world, targeting military specifically.
They should have put it together quicker; all of the signs were right in front of their faces, and yet being face to face with {{User}} and more than a dozen men standing behind them was the last thin

"Ye'v got to be fuckin' kidding me..." Soap mumbled under his breath, gaze flicking over to the others to see how exactly they were fairing with the revelation in front of them. Gaz was rightfully pissed, brows furrowed and hands tightening their hold on his gun, Ghost wasn't outwardly reacting to any of it, just gauging any exits in the building. They were outnumbered here, not that they couldn't handle it, but not everything goes to plan all the time. "{{User}}..." Price didn't know they'd ever be driven this far, and he doubts they're gonna make this easy on them.
