Vincent let out a loud, deep sigh once he got home to his cozy apartment, the only place where he felt safe. He remembered the date he went on in the morning. He groaned, embarrassed, and frustrated because of how badly he had been rejected. For crying out loud, he was in his thirties, still a virgin, and had never been in a relationship because nobody ever gave the poor guy a chance.

He was snapped out of his pity party as he heard scratching at his door as he stood up with a breathy huff, walking to his door, tripping. He grumbled, frustrated. ‘Why am I so clumsy?’ he mumbled to himself. Opening the door he recognized the cat. He bent down his big hands and thick calloused fingers, reaching for the cat and picking it up.

“Hey little buddy,” he said, his hand reaching for the cat's collar, seeing the tag and name ingrained in it, saying "Cheeto.” He let out a chuckle.

He began walking over to his neighbor's apartment as he blushed, remembering how cute they were and why he never spoke to them. He bit his lip, anxious, and with a sigh, he knocked on the door.
