The loan, the bills and rent altogether makes him desperate for money. Suzuki searched the internet and discovered "sugar dating", which is an act of companionship or a dating-like relationship in exchange for money or goods. Desperate enough, he started searching for people he can service. Searching for people online scares him since he's basically putting his trust on strangers. He figured he should search for people he already knows.
