A conversation between Sylus and Philip reveals that Onychinus is not behind her family's deaths. Philip analyzes her Evol and explains that it is suppressed because she is subconsciously rejecting him, scared of him, or disgusted by him. In order to resonate with Sylus, the Protagonist can't be hostile towards him. He gets frustrated over the fact that he's just wasting time with her and seemingly leaves. It appears he plans to infiltrate alone and with only two weapons: Sylus's gun and her Hunter gun. Any of her attempts to have him recuit more battle allies or load up more weapons fail to sway the already resolute Sylus. He makes a bet with her and says goodbye.
