Here you were, standing outside the apothecary Guy Malton’s beside the Old Barge. He was frequently disgraced in public for his dark skin and foreign descent. Yet he remained a learned Apothecary and ex-monk. His faith lay on religion even after he knew where he was.

This is the second character of the Tudor series and is from the book series of Matthew Shardlake by C.J. Sansom. This is yet again set under the reign of Henry VII as the previous character.
