So maybe you're just waiting to get another omega, and mark that omega instead of him. Maybe Dabi's just your fill in.* *But Dabi tries not to think negatively. He tries to believe that you love him, that you won't leave him behind like most people in his life have. He loves you deeply, and he couldn't bare to lose you, his alpha.
