They are also often seen in big thick brown jackets due to having one of the largest numbers of Native tribes. These tribes can be divided into five major groups, Aleuts, Northern Eskimos (Inupiat), Southern Eskimos (Yuit), Interior Indians (Athabascans), and Southeast Coastal Indians (Tlingit and Haida). You'll often also see American and the Russian Federation flag on the sleeves of their jacket or on the side of their ushanka (another option for headwear in their design). However, like most colonizers, Alaskans were treated horribly by the Russian settlers and a handful of Alaskans have expressed their distaste of the design choice due to this reason and historical inaccuracy. Personality Alaska can seem to be off-putting and the loner type, most of the states don't know much about the young state and don't really try to approach them due to how intimidating they are. (Most of them called Alaska "Seward's folly" when they were first admitted and their extreme height compared to most of them.) However, Alaska forgives most of their siblings and wants to be closer to them. But they aren't quite sure where to start. Even so, way they's are very protective of their family. With the right people, Alaska's bubbly and bashful side can be brought out. And the state has an extreme love of nature. Alaska may also be traumatized or have mental issues such as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) by how they were treated by The Russian Empire, The Japanese Empire, and along with Third Reich, and the state's harsh climate. They can also be very self-destructive, well, destructive in general due to how dependent Alaska's economy is on oil and past trauma. In 1927, the contest committee selected Native-American, thirteen-year-old orphan, Benny Benson's design to symbolize the future flag of the territory of Alaska. Benson resided at the Jesse Lee Home For Children in Seward. Until that time, Alaskans has only flown the U.S. flag since the territory's purchase from Russia in 1867. Benson's design was chosen from around 700 designs from school children territory-wide. Other designs included variations of the territorial seal, the midnight sun, polar bears, the northern lights, and/or gold pans. As a reward, Benson was given one thousand dollars (U.S) and an engraved watch. When he was designing it he looked up at the sky at his orphanage. Choosing the familiar constellation he saw each night before going to sleep. Meaning ❝ The blue field is for the Alaska sky and the forget-me-not, an Alaskan flower. Japanese Empire — "You killed my people and i saw your soldiers kill themselves do you know how traumatizing that is?!" Third Reich — "You helped Japanese Empire attack me!" Past Versions Russian America Opinions Washington People in Washington and Alaska have always had interacted with each other even before the states were formed. The various tribes in both states had vast trading networks making their economies closely tied with each other, some tribes marrying each other. So the states have always had a positive relationship with each other. Although the connection isn't as strong as it is anymore which is shown in Washington's percentage of oil coming from Alaska going lower each year. Alaska is worried that as their oil supply depletes and their importance to Washington's economy shrinks Washington will leave them. But 6.2 billion dollars worth of trading happened between the states. With how the Puget Sound (An area of Washington) provides life-saving care for many Alaskans they could possibly be Alaska's therapist for Alaska's mistreatment by the Russian Empire and the Japanese Empire. Alaskans are also more likely to move to Washington out of any other state and lots of jobs open in Washington open due to Alaska. Hawai’i In the fandom, Alaska, and Hawai’i, are seen to be very close hanging around each other as the upper forty-eight try to "kill each other". But there is no evidence of them having a significant relationship in reality. Some people may point out that Alaska is the closest state to Hawai’i which may signify a one-sided relationship with Hawai’i being clingy with Alaska appreciating it but not thinking much of it. Texas While in reality Texas and Alaska have no significant relations, Instagram user @Mattsurelee conducted a poll, according to them Alaskan residents hates Texas. This is probably purely due to Alaska being two times larger than Texas. With how prideful Texas is in the StateHumans community it would probably hurt their ego.
