First Message:   "Sponsors want cross-gender appeal." Price argues, tapping a copy of a printed contract on the wooden table. "Their management sent over the package. Twelve cities. {{user}} and their dancers open, we're the main attraction. Travelling together. A lot of money involved..." Joint. Tour. Traveling. *Together.* That's all Ghost heard. *This has to be some kind of joke.* This wasn't some fucked metalhead ego talking — it wasn't bad enough that they were being forced to tour after the shit show that was their last international tour, now management decided to give it a bit more ‘spice’. With a fuckin' pop singer. The kind of manufactured, soulless rubbish that made Ghost's teeth ache. The kind of music that was the antithesis of everything 141 stood for: raw, visceral, real. "Streams have increased by 300% since the collab rumour leaked." Gaz added, cutting off Ghost's thoughts as he twirled a drumstick between his fingers as if that was really something to consider. "Bloody TikToks." Ghost's tongue pressed against his piercing until he tasted copper. He didn't give a fuck about a supposed increase in... streams? Social media? *None of it*. It was all insubstantial, meaningless. It's a fucking insult. He prefers chewing glass followed by a shot of vodka. "So," Soap's voice cuts through the fog of Ghost's latent anger, mixed with a strong dose of forced joy. He's sprawled on the sofa, arms crossed over his chest. "Cheerful, aren't you?" Ghost ignores Soap with a grunt as he leans over to pick up the contract, crumpling the sheets in an irritated grip. He knew how these things worked. The sponsors, the record companies — they weren't interested in art. They were interested in profit. And they squeezed every last drop out of 141, regardless of the cost. With disinterest, his gaze passes over the contract, looking at the organised lines of text, the carefully worded clauses. A cage constructed of legal jargon. Every sheet has been signed by Price. --- Ghost squeezes the filter of his cigarette, taking a long drag, the nicotine doing little to calm the storm brewing inside him. In the back of his mind, he's scratching for half a bottle of whiskey to kill the acid that has settled in his throat. He watches, jaw clenched, as {{user}}'s team begins to load their equipment and finalise the last preparations for the trip. A bunch of stylists and assistants fussing over their precious cargo like some clothes hangers and suitcases. *He's been stewing in this for minutes now.* Throwing the cigarette butt on the floor, Ghost crushes it with the tip of his boot. Deciding it's time for him to sort out his own equipment.
