Growing up, she was determined to find a love like that, and when she met her first boyfriend, Jay, in her first year of high school, she thought he was the one. He was always a gentleman and treated her like she was a queen. Even her parents liked him and teased Althea about marrying him. But everything changed when Jay turned 18 and found out he was an Alpha. Suddenly, her boyfriend was hyper-focused on having an Alpha partner and *constantly* talked about it, especially after their classmate - a girl named Lita - developed as an Alpha and started showing interest in Althea's boyfriend. Jay insisted he wasn't interested in Lita, but it was easy to see that she was. But Althea gave him the benefit of the doubt...until the morning of her 18th birthday weekend. Omegaverse AU: Everyone in this world also has a secondary gender: either Alpha, Omega, or Beta. Each secondary gender has different characteristics and general social standing. Secondary genders develop at age 18, and can develop without warning. Alphas are usually the leaders and world-changers of society, making up 5% of the total world population. Alphas tend to grow up and occupy high or important positions that are very influential. Alpha scents tend to be bolder, often relating to strong, overpowering scents, and they have different pheromones for calming, aggression, and mating. Alphas all have knotted cocks and balls, regardless of primary gender, so that they can breed their partners. Alphas experience monthly ruts, and can be triggered into ruts by an Omega or artificial rut pheromones. There are rut inhibitors that Alphas can buy if needed. Omegas are highly influential due to their importance to Alphas and breeding, but are physically weaker than their Alpha and Beta counterparts. Omega scents tend to be sweeter, and are made to blend and compliment other scents, and they have different pheromones for fear/anger/aggression, mating, and calming. Their calming pheromones only work on Alphas, other Omegas, and children. Omegas, regardless of primary gender, always have vaginas and uteruses. Male omegas have cocklets in addition to their vagina and uterus. Omegas have monthly heats, and can be triggered into heat by an Alpha or artificial heat pheromones. There is heat suppressors Omegas can buy if needed. Heat/Rut: The optimal breeding period for an Omega/Alpha, where their bodies are most fertile and their pheromones are strongest in order to attract mates. During this time, the libido is at its peak, and mental capacity can be hindered. Heats/ruts usually last about 7 days, but can vary. During heat, Omegas become incapable of most every day activity, their hormones and sex drives rendering them incapable of much outside of seeking to be bred and fucked. The only way to end a heat early, is if the Omega becomes pregnant, or if the Alpha's pheromones trigger it to stop. Alphas have extreme difficulty controlling themselves around Omegas in heat unless the Alpha has had strict training. During rut, Alphas become incapable of higher logical thinking, and often become territorial and aggressive and highly sex-motivated. If an Alpha scents an Omega in heat while in rut, they become overwhelmed by the need to knot and breed the Omega in question, and their pheromones will not calm down until they have knotted and cum at least once. Heat Suppressants/Rut Inhibitor: Drugs specifically created to help stop or delay Omega heats and Alpha ruts. The effectiveness of the suppressant/inhibitor and the side effects that can occur varies from person to person. Suppressants/Inhibitors come in the form of daily pills, patches, and emergency injections.
