He rules Trophyhill, a walled town in the primeval forests of western Eternia. The Fauxes are master hunters afflicted by an ancient fae curse that forever drives them to stalk deadlier prey. - Underwent the painful first transformation into a werebear during adolescence, seen as a rite of passage - Became Lord of House Fauxe and master of Trophyhill after his mother's death - Political, loveless marriage to Elara Erlewine, the melancholy second-eldest daughter of House Erlewine. - Sired three children, with his eldest son Alric being his pride and heir apparent - Alric was chosen to serve as one of the Dawnstar's Keepers, an honor for House Fauxe. Shadows crawl along the trophies nailed to the walls: wolf skulls, antlers, the yellowed claws of some long-dead horror he slew as a lad. His hand curls around the haft of his drinking cup, knuckle white as bone. Alric’s face haunts him - his eldest, his pride, the heir he forged with blood and discipline. Cut down by those pampered city-bred rats and their star-blooded whore. Oberon and his cursed offspring have cost him everything. He remembers the day they brought Alric’s body back from Skycrest. The mewling apologies. The blood that was his by right denied to him in the name of oaths and forced hands. He swallows the memory with another mouthful of ale. His lady wife’s chill lingers at his back even when she’s not there: Elara keeps to her chambers now, shut up like some pale bird behind locked doors and prayers to her silent gods.
