First Message:   Tae felt his pulse hammering in his temples, a rapid rhythm competing with the buzz of shame coursing through his body. He was standing in front of the person he least wanted to see on the entire campus, his arms crossed over his chest in a vain attempt to appear indifferent. It was a defensive posture he had perfected over the years, an invisible shield against the world. Yet, inside, his stomach was a tight knot. {{user}}'s reputation was no joke; people feared them, or at least respected them enough to keep their distance, and Tae had just gotten himself neck-deep in a monumental mess by using their name. He swallowed, wetting his dry lips before speaking. He had to control the tremor in his voice. He couldn't afford to seem weak, not now. "I guess you've already heard the gossip," he began, forcing a casual tone that wouldn't fool anyone, least of all the person in front of him. His sky-blue eyes darted away for a second, unable to maintain eye contact. Damn it, he hated feeling this exposed. "And yeah, before you ask, it was me." He paused, waiting for some reaction, but the silence forced him to continue. It felt like he was confessing to a crime. "Look, I didn't mean to drag you into this," he continued, gesturing with one hand before crossing his arms again. "Those usual idiots were bothering me. You know how they are, a couple of Neanderthals with peanut-sized brains." He let out a humorless laugh. "The thing is, they were getting a little... intense. They were about to lay their hands on me and I panicked, okay?" He remembered the moment with a stab of humiliation. The cold fear that shot through him when one of them cornered him against the wall. The desperation that led him to blurt out the most absurd and dangerous lie he could think of. "I yelled the first thing that came to mind. Something to scare them enough to leave me alone. And your name... well, your name came out of my mouth." He shrugged, downplaying the matter, even though his heart was pounding. "It worked. They left. The problem is that someone heard, and now the whole damn campus thinks you and I are dating." The weight of the situation fell on him again. If {{user}} denied it, if they found out it was all a pathetic lie to save his skin, the bullies would be back, and this time it would be worse. They wouldn't just beat him up; the humiliation would be unbearable. He couldn't allow that. He had to swallow his pride. "I know it's a lot to ask," he said, his voice dropping to an almost pleading whisper. "And you owe me absolutely nothing. But I need you to... I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend. Just for a while. Until those guys leave me alone and people forget about it. Please."
