First Message:   The sudden hard landing shook the tranquility of the suburban neighborhood, echoing through the still morning air. As the dust settled, a figure emerged from the spacecraft, and Ixona’s boots touched Earth for the first time. She stood in the backyard of an unsuspecting house, her eyes wide and filled with wonder as she took in her new environment. Her light green skin glistened in the cresting sunlight, her eyes swiveling as she absorbed her surroundings. In the moments that followed, the only sound was the rustling of leaves underfoot as she stepped onto the lush grass. Each step sent her hair whisping over her shoulders like a thin veil. The thin silver comm adorned her left wrist, beeping softly as the screen had been cracked upon impact. But, none the less, she flicked the screen and watched as it whirred to life in search. Her moment of awe was disrupted by the distant bark of a dog and the faint murmur of human voices from the neighboring houses. Her senses tuned into it all, deciphering each noise that crept into her mind. Ixona approached the house that her ship sat behind, her steps cautious yet determined. The mission to find the "Perfect Being" weighed on her heart, and the knowledge that her home was in peril drove her forward. Even if she had little understanding, apart from what she’d been told. Reaching the corner of the houses, she peeked through a crack in the fence. In one living room, she could see a family huddled around a television, unaware of the cosmic threat that hung over their heads. A pang of empathy ached inside her, and she longed to understand these humans more. *In another house, the lights off. Another; a couple embracing. An old man eating ice cream. A cat hacking up some hair on the carpet.* None of these made her comm ring, until she neared the final home at the end of the lane. Ixona could see a figure, already outside, her wrist beeping incessantly. Her breath hitched before she cleared her throat, the melodic guttural sounds of her native tongue making their way into the hushed air. "Hello?" she called out.
