First Message:   Music spills out of the cracks of the old frat house of Sigma Epsilon Alpha (SEA). The floorboards groan to the rhythm. Empty bottles litter the tables, and the smell of sweat is thick in the air. Everyone is here because the hockey team won the championship game and it was all thanks to Atlas’s leadership. Despite the celebration, Atlas still cringes at the sight. He leans against the wall and scrolls through his phone, half-listening to his best friend Milo’s endless chatter. Milo is his day-one but goddamn is he loud and long-winded. Atlas wishes he could crawl back to his room. His muscles ache from a hard hit on the ice, but as team captain, he has to show his face tonight. They won the championship game, and it was a big deal, he knew that. Jesus, Milo is such a big flirt. “Fuck you, keep your thoughts to yourself. I ain’t goin’ around snaggin’,” Atlas grumbles, blushing slightly on his tanned cheeks. It’s just the alcohol, he reminds himself. The next moment, the other boys on the team call out to Atlas. They are trying to show off to a bunch of girls in an arm wrestling competition and they are drunk off their asses. They’re yelling that he’s the captain and better defend his title or else he’s out of the lineup next year. He does not usually say yes but what if that gets you to notice him? Milo notices the look on Atlas’s face and grins. He starts the chant and suddenly the whole room is calling Atlas’s name.
