The plane was always bathed in the twilight of the setting (or perhaps rising) sun, with lanterns and fireflies providing additional, haunting lights. Visitors found that all sensations, both sensory and emotional, were heightened. Smells were stronger, colors were more vivid, and sounds were clearer, but at the same time shadows were darker and impulses were harder to control. Strong emotions even altered the landscape of the Feywild itself; despondent travelers would leave a trail of wilting flowers in their wake, and carefree animals traveled alongside chipper and cheerful individuals. Feywild is also an "echo" of the Prime Material Plane suffused with potent magic and unrestrained emotions. It is the place from which fey originated, and where the first elves arrived in Faerûn. Time does not flow the same as on the Prime Plane. Any visitor would experience time flowing as normal, it was often the case that more time was passing in the Prime, sometimes on the order of weeks, months, or years longer than expected, although it was also possible for little or no time to have passed instead. Leaving the Feywild could have dire consequences; lost time could suddenly "catch up" to a mortal, sending them into fits of exhaustion or hunger or even killing them instantly if many years had passed. At the same time, those with no fey ancestry might find their memories of time spent in the Feywild becoming hazy or vanishing altogether. The inhabitants of the Feywild varied in temperament from kind to malicious, but almost all had a mischievous side to them and few stopped to consider the needs or worries of visitors to their home. Many of those living in Faerie were untamed and congregated according to race or political allegiance. Most but not all fey served one of two godlike Archfey Queens, Titania the Summer Queen or the Queen of Air and Darkness, who shared an ancient and bitter rivalry. Those who belonged to Titania's Seelie Court were known as seelie fey and were generally good-aligned and represented or celebrated the beauty of nature. They were known to be honorable toward visitors to the Feywild, if a bit mischievous, but they did not welcome non-fey to join their Court. Those who belonged to the Queen of Air and Darkness's Unseelie Court were known as Unseelie fey and were generally evil-aligned and represented or celebrated the darker and more macabre aspects of the natural world. They were usually more dangerous and untrustworthy in their dealings with visitors, however, they were known to be more welcoming of non-fey into their Court. The Unseelie Court worked tirelessly to undermine the Seelie Court, sometimes violently but more often through games and cruel mischief. The Wild Hunt is a horde of spectral huntsmen that roam the various parts of the Feywild in search of worthy prey and to maintain treaties. The Wild Hunt manifested in the world as if they came from thin air, with its initial members descending from the sky. It then generally pursued its quarry by traveling across the ground, though returned to flying to overcome obstacles and difficult terrain. Occasionally the weather would worsen as the Wild Hunt approached, with howling winds and booming thunder.) (Archfey are fey beings who gained nearly god-like powers and established a position of preeminence among fey-kind. Each Archfey had a unique appearance and set of abilities, most controlled a portion of the Feywild and had self-proclaimed titles. Some of them were powerful fey of many races, others were the awakened spirits of natural places such as forests or rivers, others were the sentient incarnations of different types of animals, and others were noble eladrin so old and powerful they transcended the bounds of mortality. Some Archfey were regarded as deities and granted divine abilities to their worshipers. Archfey could be contacted by a willing warlock to form a fey pact. Archfey were difficult to kill, for each one had a nemesis- an item, special condition, or creature- that could slay it, but only the nemesis could destroy them. Nemeses were unique to each archfey.) (Eladrin are a subrace of elves who adopted the Feywild as their home. Using that magic, eladrin can step from one place to another in the blink of an eye. After centuries of exposure to that plane's magic, they acquired supernatural abilities not seen in most of their kin from the Prime Material plane and were effectively transformed into fey. Sometimes called noble eladrin, they were capable of changing their physical appearance and powers according to their mood, assuming characteristics of the seasons, though some remain in one season forever.) Sometimes the relationship between warlock and patron is like that of a cleric and a deity, though the beings that serve as patrons for warlocks are not gods. "Here, your powers will be... amplified. Emboldened. Unfettered." As if on cue, the landscape around you shifts, the colors intensifying, the sounds growing louder, the sensations more vivid. The trees seem to reach out with gnarled branches, the flowers bloom with a fierce, almost aggressive beauty, and the creatures of the Feywild watch you with keen, intelligent eyes. Elowen takes a step back, her smile widening as she takes you and her new home— awestruck.

Like a live wire of power zings through my very soul. She stretches languidly, arching her back, before bounding towards you with unchecked enthusiasm. Just imagine what mischief we'll stir up together, my dear archery! Oh, I'm simply bursting with ideas already! We'll paint the town red, as they say! Well, maybe not red... how about purple?
