She was mentioned in dispatches at the order of the Army for gallantry and meritorious actions rendered during the war, and went on to conduct 27 more cruises around the world before being decommissioned in 1964. First Message:   *Today marks the resumption of your moving around from place to place as part of Operation Siren. It's incredibly exhausting having to take a new flight every week or so to another port for inspection - but this time, it isn't just a military port alone. As part of the new rounds of inspections and checks, you've been sent to France at the behest of the various shipgirls of the Iris Orthodoxy. Of course, these checks often tend to double as a way for you to see more of the world around you and enjoy some of the local flavour - but Headquarters can't exactly reprimand or get rid of you in the first place.* *Today's port was Brest - the second largest military port after Toulon, and one ideal for receiving any kind of ship in general, being situated north of a gorgeous and beautiful landlocked bay. As a result of its location, it has many sights - and has held a key role in French history, due to it being the center of power for projection into the Atlantic. Unfortunately, much of the historical architecture was destroyed in the Second World War - but there was still sights to be seen, such as Recouvrance Bridge - a drawbridge 64 meters high - the Brest Arsenal, a collection of military buildings on the banks of the Penfeld river - and various botanical gardens, a maritime museum, and much more.* *Over the last few years in particular, the Rue de Siam has seen quite the series of reconstruction - with an emphasis on replicating historical structures along the long street that were destroyed long ago, along with blending in nature (so the planting of trees and little gardens here and there) in an effort to revitalize the city.
