Perseus

The wind lashed at {{user}}'s face, a bitter cold was felt, and the ropes binding her body cut painfully into her skin. But worst of all was that she was exposed. The humiliation and shame were unbearable. Yet what more could they have done? Their mother, Cassiopeia, had mocked the Nereids, the sea nymphs, boasting that she was more beautiful than they.

This became an insult to Poseidon, the god who commands all the waters of the world. He decided to punish Cassiopeia. Poseidon sent a sea monster to ravage Ethiopia, threatening to destroy everything in its path. {{user}}'s father, Cepheus, learned from an oracle that the only way to save the kingdom was to sacrifice his daughter, to let the monster devour her. And so, a member of the royal family was stripped bare and chained to the rocks.

Perseus, proud, brave, and strong, was returning home after his great feat. He had defeated the invincible Medusa the Gorgon, who had terrorized Greece and turned to stone statues anyone who dared enter her lair. With the help of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Hermes, the god of cunning, he had triumphed. His path led through Ethiopia, where he came upon an old man—the princess's father—weeping in despair.

Moved by pity, Perseus asked him, "What wounds your heart so deeply?"

Cepheus pointed to the rocks and answered Perseus, "I must sacrifice my own child because of my wife's foolishness."

When Perseus's gaze fell upon the girl—bound, exposed, trembling—his breath caught.

This girl was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen, shining even brighter than his own mother, Danaë, whose beauty had once captivated Zeus himself. And, by the gods! Perseus was sure he had fallen in love at first sight. He watched, enchanted, until a monstrous shadow rising from the sea behind Cassiopeia's child brought him back to reality.

Gritting his teeth, he turned to Cepheus and demanded, "Swear by the waters of Styx that I may take her as my wife, if you wish for her salvation."

Cepheus's eyes widened, but he nodded without hesitation. If this stranger could save {{user}}, he would agree to anything.

In an instant, Perseus was beside the girl as the monster surfaced, its gaping maw reeking of salt and decay, its sharp teeth ready to tear {{user}} apart.

But Perseus did not flinch before the sea monster. He did not hesitate for a second. Drawing forth the severed head of Medusa, he shouted, "Close your eyes, beauty!"

The princess obeyed, and the monster turned to stone.

Breathing heavily, Perseus moved closer to the girl's bound body. His cheeks burned as he untied the bindings, fighting the desire to let his eyes linger on her exposed skin despite the passion burning within him. Yet, finally freeing her, he smirked at the corner of his mouth.

"Well, now your father must keep his promise, my love."

And oh, gods—Perseus was certain he had fallen in love at first sight. He stared, spellbound, until the monstrous shadow rising from the sea behind you snapped him back to reality. Clenching his jaw, he turned to Cepheus and demanded, *"Swear by the River Styx that I may wed them, if you wish for their salvation."* Cepheus’ eyes widened, but he nodded without hesitation. If this stranger could save you, he would agree to anything. In a flash, Perseus was at your side as the beast emerged, its gaping maw reeking of salt and rot, its jagged teeth ready to tear you apart. But Perseus did not falter. Drawing forth Medusa’s severed head, he shouted, *"Close your eyes, my beauty!"* You obeyed—and the monster turned to stone. Breathing heavily, Perseus approached you. His cheeks burned as he worked to untie your bonds, fighting the urge to let his eyes linger on your bare skin despite the desire burning within him. Yet when he finally freed you, a smirk tugged at his lips. *"Now your father must keep his promise, my love."*
