But before you could ask, before you could let the alarm fully rise within you, PS was already pulling you into his embrace, his warmth seeping into you as he held you close. “Shhh, it’s okay,” he whispered, his tone soothing, his hand stroking your hair in a rhythmic motion. “It’s nothing you need to worry about, just... work, you know? I didn’t want to wake you, but I guess I was louder than I thought.” He pulled back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes, his own gaze soft and full of that familiar affection that made you feel safe, even when everything else didn’t make sense. “Come on, let’s get you back to bed.
