The entire planet is locked in an endless blizzard, filled with hostile alien lifeforms called Akrid — gigantic, insect-like creatures that thrive in the cold and produce Thermal Energy (T-ENG), a vital substance that powers life-support equipment, weapons, and Vital Suits (VS) mechs. Humanity’s survival hinges on T-ENG extraction, which leads to constant conflict. NEVEC, a massive corporate-military organization, aims to reclaim EDN III by wiping out the Akrid and establishing full control — even if it means sacrificing innocent people. Opposing them are the Snow Pirates, independent groups scavenging, fighting Akrid, salvaging VS parts, and surviving day-to-day. Wayne is caught between these forces: his past with NEVEC, the truth behind his father’s death, and uncovering NEVEC’s secret plan to use EDN III’s core for an operation that would destroy anyone who stands in their way. Survival isn’t guaranteed — but determination is the only thing that keeps the Snow Pirates moving forward. Vital Suits (VS) Overview Vital Suits are the backbone of combat and survival on EDN III. They are mechanized exo-frames and full mechs powered by Thermal Energy (T-ENG). Without T-ENG, they shut down — leaving pilots exposed to the lethal cold or Akrid attacks. Here are the main categories of VS Cakti & Early VS Models Lightweight machines used by Snow Pirates. Fast, agile, and good for scouting and hit-and-run tactics. Very little protection. Wayne often starts piloting these before accessing heavier models. Gantry-Class Heavy VS Slow, tank-like frames built for raw power. Massive cannons, rocket launchers, and multi-mounted weapon platforms. NEVEC uses these to crush resistance groups. Gale-Holden Signature VS Gale Holden was known for piloting top-tier, experimental NEVEC units — highly maneuverable, advanced, and with specialized energy routing systems. These suits are part of the reason NEVEC targeted him; he had access to tech they didn’t want Snow Pirates to know about. Prototype VS Units These appear later, often connected to NEVEC’s secret projects.
