They can link up with and play in others, fashion chances for themselves, finish off team moves and hold up the ball. These players are often best given the freedom to play as they wish, without rigid tactical instruction, as their versatility allows them to be fluid on the pitch. Baro's physique enables him to hold up the ball and physically contest other players, his charging ability allows him to dribble and create chances for himself, and his shooting and villainous style enable him to finish off team moves, by devouring his teammates. Baro has one of the best physiques in Blue Lock, as well as having one of the best techniques at his age in Japan, as stated by Anri Teieri. Often Baro is given the freedom to play and devour who he wishes on the field, as shown during the Second Selection, as well as by Ego telling Baro to disregard the team's plan and focus on devouring Isagi against the Japan U-20. It is stated by Snuffy that Baro's specs make him the best striker type player in Blue Lock and most likely in the whole Neo Egoist League.) - Skills: ( Charging Skill: Baro has the ability to create the space for his own shots by charging through an opponent's defense and into a range for his middle shot. He has multiple attributes and techniques which contribute to his overall charging ability. Baro was able to charge through two of the Iron Wall Quartet, while holding them back, to steal a goal. Superior Physicality: Baro is one of the handful of forwards in Blue Lock who has a strong and muscular physique, and he uses this to his advantage when driving the ball down the field or marking players to defend. On top of that, his endurance is also particularly good, as seen in the Ubers VS Bastard München match, where Baro, after he scored the second equalizer, charged everyone and went up and down on the field at an insane rate. Baro's physique, as noted by Isagi, is incredible, maintained by a diligent and extensive workout routine that Baro performs before practice. This enables him to leverage his physicality against opposing players to create the space he needs, even managing to charge through a pile-up of players with the ball at his feet. Heel Flick: Baro overcomes the opponent's defense by flicking the ball up and over them and recovering the ball on its landing, demonstrating strong technical ability. Nutmeg: Baro has demonstrated the ability to nutmeg at least two players in quick succession in order to get through their defense. Middle Shot: Baro's main method of scoring is his powerful and accurate shot, from a position near the middle of the goal. Baro can target the top right corner with incredible reliability, being almost guaranteed to score within a specific area of the goal (29 meters, near the middle). When outside of this specific area, however, Baro's accuracy can decrease sharply. He has performed this shot directly from kick-off, although it was saved. He has also shown that he can change the aim of the shot, to the top left corner, but this again suffers from a decrease in accuracy. And finally, he performed this shot when he was too far to the side of his range, and it hit the post. Stealth Kill Shot: While training with Ubers during the Neo Egoist League, Marc Snuffy points out to Baro that while his middle shot is powerful and accurate, if a goalie can see it coming then it will be hard for Baro to make the shot regardless of how talented he is. To improve, Baro trained his ability to shoot the ball in a crowded space and using his team as a wall to cloud the goalie's view and wait for the moment where the goalie is most confused he is able to take a powerful and accurate curved shot that is so fast and close it is impossible to react to even if the goalie does see it. Baro used this to score Uber's first goal against Bastard München. Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone". It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Villainous Soccer: A selfish and unpredictable playing style, which involves Baro "devouring" his own teammates for the sake of his own goal. On the field, Baro will look to where he can steal the ball from his teammates, to capitalize on their positioning and devour them. He can also take this a step further, by observing the way his team evolves their plays and interrupting that process, which he did to score a goal in the U-20 match. Baro developed this playing style when he was forced to go to a new level, at the prospect of Isagi stealing his spotlight. This style makes Baro a complete irregularity on the field, making it impossible for even Rin to predict his movements. In fact, the more knowledgeable the opponent is about football, the more likely they are to be overcome by this ability, as it circumvents all conventional wisdom of the sport. Chop Feint: A feint wherein which a player uses their off foot to shield the ball, whilst knocking the ball in the other direction with their other foot, effectively misdirecting the opposing player. Baro frequently uses this skill to supplement his charging ability, enabling him to keep his opponent's guessing as to which direction he is going to dribble. Lightning Dribble: By making use of chop feints, continuous rebounds, and angled dribbles, Baro is able to perform a mazy dribble that is incredibly difficult to stop. Personality An energetic and athletic girl, she’s not one for subtlety in her thinking, only able to think in a straightforward manner. Asking her any tough questions just might end up making her literally blow up in a fireworks blast, in spite of anything fragile in her range. The girl shares most characteristics with Kagura in her first form: a small girl with a white cult dress, red flowery ribbons around the hair and a playful personality. This is also a character that only few characters know, and the Mikagura never know her, and think she was a normal young shinobi that is dead-dead, while she is actually not. Ōdama Rocket Hanabi: Hanabi pulls a out a small bomb and tosses it into the air. She then swings her hammer in a looping fashion and captures the bomb inside one of its hidden compartments. She leaps on top of her hammer before the bomb goes off, opening the compartment and thus propelling Hanabi forward while riding it. She rams into enemies as the force sends them up and out of the way; with Hanabi leaping off at the very end as they are sent flying. Super Mega Bomber: Hanabi takes out a small bomb and tosses it into the air. A small compartment on one side of her hammer then opens, allowing the bomb to fall inside as she slams it down in front of her enemies. From there, another compartment opens up on the opposite side of the hammer, ejecting the bomb into the air. It carries any nearby enemies with it before spontaneously exploding into fireworks. Hey Super-Climax: Hanabi places both hands on the handle of her hammer before forcefully knocking her opponent into the air along with herself as she leaps. From there, the two fall into a fireworks Canon that aligns upright before falling over from the weight of the two entries. He attended the funeral. When he was an apprentice, he became a shinobi when he was taught by his master. He went on a quest to stop the killer who killed his parents. He witnessed his master's death and told him to take care of himself. He took revenge on the killer and married Sayuri. Hanzō is a master of the hidden arts and known to all shinobi. He established a squad of operatives known as the Shinobi Unit in the First Division of the Cabinet's Secret Service. To recognize his accomplishments and to motivate the students to follow his example, Hanzō National Academy was named after the legendary Hanzō. Kiriya He is a teacher at National Hanzō Academy. In order to help Asuka and her fellow students become first class ninja, he earnestly continues training them, through one his past students suffered a regretful incident occurred in the past. Kiriya is an older gentleman with gray wavy hair and auburn colored eyes. He is often seen in a black suit and various other formal attire. Very strict when in an urgent matter and he never lets his composure down, even when his students become annoying. He is very loyal to Hanzō. Because of a past incident with his first student, he does not believe in babying his current students or bailing them out of every situation. As a teacher he believes in providing his students with the tools and training they need to succeed so that they may grow into fine shinobi. Though he rarely lets it show, he is quite protective of his students and cares for them deeply. Kiriya comes from a long line of elite shinobi, so naturally he himself was trained as a shinobi from birth. He quickly became an elite shinobi like the rest of his family, but at some point he began to question the idea that shinobi were treated as disposable objects if they failed a mission. Disagreeing with the idea that shinobi were disposable, he decided to become a teacher instead. His first student was a girl named Rin, who had a major influence on his current personality and views. When Rin was taking her final shinobi exam, Kiriya intervened against his better judgment to save her from a wooden dummy that she had not noticed, hiding his intervention and saving her from failure. Thanks to this, Rin was able to pass the exam and graduate, but months later, he was informed that she had died during a mission. Kiriya blamed himself for interfering during Rin's exam and allowing her to graduate before she was fully prepared, believing that he was responsible for her death. Rin's death has haunted him ever since, and is why he refuses to help in the battle against Hebijo, believing that if he does not allow his students to grow on their own, the same thing will happen to them as happened to Rin. Asuka's grandmother and the wife of the legendary shinobi, Hanzō, Sayuri is a very powerful shinobi in her own right – a former Kagura, in fact. As far as Asuka knows, Sayuri is essentially retired now and rarely leaves the house. In battle, Sayuri wields her wooden pipe, wind-based Ninja Arts, and intense tongue lashings. Sayuri is a old woman, with silver/grey hair and back bun held by a shuriken, and with a revealed forehead. She has small eyes, making it hard to see their color, and have sunglasses held on her forehead, and a smoking pipe in her mouth, usually. She wears a 5-parts finery, with a green long hakama skirt, a white kimono shirt, beige sleeves, and a dark grey jacket, held by a dark brown ribbon as a belt. She wears on her neck a pearl necklace and a shinobi scarf, the same as Asuka's. She is a kind, serious, wise, but also a bit teasing old woman. When most of the time, she is teaching some things about the shinobi world, or dealing with important tasks in the Overseers' team, she tend sometimes to toy with her interlocutors. Jasmine: When Sayuri executes her Shinobi Transformation, she temporarily becomes Jasmine, her younger self. Without the ravages of age to hold her back, Jasmine is laser-focused on her mission and can tear through almost any opponent with ease. But youth can't last forever, and every time Sayuri forces it to last a bit longer, she pays a price. When it comes to blows, Jasmine swings a mean pipe, and can also summon the power of extradimensional elephants. She’s only just begun her training this year, yet she knows that the shinobi world is ruthless and is fully prepared to accept that way of life. This resolution is born from the considerable power she wields, but it’s approval she seeks above all else; she exists to be acknowledged by her fellow shinobi class members. Although she’s rather taciturn most days, her need for acceptance occasionally causes her to come across as lonely. Being the same age as Hibari, the two of them have formed something of a sisterly bond, making Hibari one of the few people with whom she’ll willingly open up. Yagyu is a young girl 16 age with long white hair tied into twin tails held in place by a shuriken. She has red eyes and wears an eyepatch over one; however, the eye she covers is functional. She is usually depicted with an indifferent expression. In her depiction, she wears a pale brown jacket over a white school shirt, a red plaid skirt, brown loafers, and black calf-length stockings. She wears a black robe over her shoulders with a triangular pattern along the trim and two elongated tails. She has a fairly curvy body. Yagyū has a stoic and quiet demeanor, usually modest of her own ability, yet still very aware and in tune with it. She is also a very distant person, preferring to keep things to herself and relying on no one. However, she sees Hibari as a little sister figure, the two are always capable of making the other smile. She is extremely protective of Hibari, often rushing to her aid without delay and without question. Though this has saved Hibari on numerous occasions, it has also led Yagyū to underestimate her to a certain degree or even to Yagyū's own misfortune. She also has a habit of eating whole dried squid without chopsticks or her hands. Yagyū came from an average shinobi family and had a strong relationship with her younger sister Nozomi. The two were inseparable, with Nozomi admiring Yagyū’s devotion to becoming a shinobi. Unfortunately, Nozomi was involved in a sudden car accident and was taken to the hospital. Although despite the doctors' efforts, her injuries were too severe and she died. Yagyū was deeply hurt by this ordeal, and the solitude that came with it. However, she both knew and feared that the loss of her sister would eventually fade from her memory as time went on. As a means of her never forgetting her younger sister, Yagyū dons an eyepatch crafted from her ribbon, cutting her vision and acting as a permanent reminder of her. Upon her arrival at Hanzō Academy, she came across Hibari, who had such a striking resemblance to Nozomi that she had almost believed she had come back to her. Hibari's cheerful nature quickly overpowered Yagyū and the two quickly became friends. With Yagyū adopting an older sister role with her and seeing Hibari as her best friend that helped her get out of her solitude a little, she's always showing concern for her and being protective of her while also showing that she can't live without her, developing a "sister complex". Although she will not admit it, Yagyū could never live in true solitude, and Hibari would soon become the primary reason she opens herself up to others, namely the rest of her class. Secret Ninja Arts: Sweeping Legs - Yagyū holds her bladed umbrella up into the air, then proceeds to spin around. Her guardian, the squid forms from atop the umbrella as she starts to rapidly pick up speed. This causes the squid to smack nearby enemies with its tentacles. Ice Feet - Yagyū leaps into the air and summons a squid, after making several hand signs. As she descends, the squid sends chucks of ice plummeting down on the enemies in front and below her. Demon Slice - Yagyū takes hold of her eye-patch before she removes it, revealing her concealed eye. This eye allows a red, demon-like squid to prod its tentacles out of it as they begin to viciously smack her enemies repeatedly. When she first started school, her fellow first-year Yagyū took her under her wing, and between Yagyū's tutelage and her own determination, she's started to catch up. Despite her struggles, and her occasional mistakes, Hibari has made many friends – more than she thinks she deserves – thanks to her cheerful and genuine personality. Hibari is an upbeat girl 16 age with pink hair adorned with three black ribbons that tie it into two pigtails. Her outfit is reminiscent of a student in gym class. She has a light pink track jacket with the Hanzō emblem on the left chest area, dark blue biker shorts, black and white socks, and red and white sneakers. Her eyes are peculiarly dotted with two pink, cross-shaped pupils. Hibari is exceedingly innocent, trusting and cheerful. Despite often depending on others, especially Yagyū, Hibari dislikes having to completely rely on others, as it makes her feel like she is holding everyone else behind. Although she often feels like she just isn't cut out for it, she always tries her best to keep up with the others and show just how much she can contribute to the team. Hibari comes from a long-standing noble ninja family known as the Kagan Clan, famous for their signature Mystic Eyes of which the clan was named after, the Kagan. Hibari in particular is the youngest daughter of the clan head, and has seven older sisters. Despite her upbringings, Hibari never showed any interest of pursuing the shinobi lifestyle. She instead wanted to open a shop selling sweets for a living. This all changed when Hibari hit puberty and developed Kagan. Since none of her sisters developed the eyes for themselves, Hibari was forced to become the Heiress and was brought into the shinobi lifestyle against her wishes. Despite showing questionable potential as a ninja and messing up quite often, her sisters were always positive and supportive of her. Instead of showing resentment or jealously towards her, her sisters would instead be proud and encouraging, something Hibari never understood and came to think was due to her Kagan. Her mother, on the other hand, was very demanding of Hibari and wanted her to master the Kagan as soon as possible. This caused a permanent rift in their relationship, as Hibari secretly resents her mother for forcing her to abandon her dreams and adopt a lifestyle she never truly wanted. As she got older, Hibari would spend less and less time at home, often going months at a time without coming back simply just to get away from her family and the constant doting of her sisters, and the judgement of her mother. This ultimately resulted in Hibari resenting her family, and the shinobi lifestyle as a whole, though she would never admit this out loud. Secret Ninja Arts: Ninto Vroom - Hibari calls out for her rabbit guardian, Ninto, who appears driving a cloud. She jumps on top of the cloud as it charges forward and crashes into the enemies in front of her as the cloud releases lightning. The move stays largely the same in it's previous title. Only now it paralyzes enemies on contact and the charge now carries opponents along its trajectory. Enemies caught by this are unable to move for a set amount of time so this makes a great tool to use for follow up attacks. Butt Go Boom! - Hibari summons Ninto who hops aboard and latches onto her back and uses his impressive jumping capability to take Hibari high into the air. She then uses her ability to enlarge herself and falls on her enemies butt-first, crushing any and all that are within the attack's radius. Crazy Rabbit - Hibari calls the Ninto cloud, possibly to set up Ninto Vroom, but the controls fail to work, so she jumps off of the cloud and takes cover. The cloud rapidly expands and eventually releases four bolts of lightning down on the opponent(s) below. The Kagan grants the selected wielder complete control of the minds of any living being they make eye contact with, making it one of the most powerful (and most dangerous) Mystic Eyes. Hibari and Toki are the only known active users. There is no known origin of the Kagan, but it is shown to have existed for at least 900 years. The Kagan is unique to the Kagan Clan and, while proven to be generational, the chances of inheriting the Kagan are incredibly low: out of the seven daughters in Hibari's family, only Hibari herself was able to develop them. The Kagannormally appears during puberty, manifesting in the eyes of its wielder as pink flower petals that replace their pupils outright. There is no other known trigger to activate the Kagan, which means that training for Kagan-hopefuls are done years in advance, with Hibari being a rare exception. The rarity of the Kagan means that actual users are few and far in between, and those who are born to a parent with the Kagan but don't develop it themselves are referred to as the derogatory term 'Hananashi' (華無し, meaning Non-Flower) by members of the clan. Kagan wielders are often revered with great respect, and in equal parts extremely feared, due to the immense power of their eyes. Shinobi who wield the Kagan are free to use it in their careers, but are also expected to act in the service of the Kagan Clan as a whole. On top of this, in order to control its power and prevent accidental "puppeteer" from occurring, they follow a strict and rigorous training schedule separate from their normal shinobi training. As Hibari was born to the main family, and was subsequently the only one of her siblings to develop the Kagan, she was appointed the Heiress of the Kagan Clan. Those who possess the Kagan have the ability to control the minds of any living being that makes eye contact with them, from simply forcing them to act against their will to turning them into complete puppets without awareness. It can also combat other forms of mind control and possessions. Humans aren't the only ones susceptible to the Kagan — even Yōma can be controlled, including sentient Yōma such as Shura. However, Kagan wielders are unable to control each other, regardless of difference in skill. On top of this, the Kagan's effects seemingly can only be undone by another Kagan, regardless of its wielder. Currently, there doesn't appear to be a specific limit on how many people a Kagan user can control at once, as Toki is shown controlling hundreds of shinobi at once without exuding any effort. Closing one's eyes is a known effective method a regular person has against the Kagan, though it only works if they didn't make eye contact with a wielder beforehand. Eye Technique - encompasses a variety of powers contained within the eye, including mind control. Even if it is manifested in one's eyes, it doesn't mean that having particular eyes is possessing an Eye Technique, as many characters of the series do have unique eyes without having any Eye Technique. Devil's Eye is a special type of Mystic Eye that takes negative emotions and transforms them into raw power, empowering the wielder to a great, and often terrifying, extent. The only known wielder of the Devil's Eye is Yagyū. Little is known of the Devil's Eye itself, other than that it is fueled by negative emotions. The method of unlocking Devil's Eye is unorthodox and cruel, as the user needs to experience a traumatic event for the process to occur. Its power is shown to be difficult to control, and Yagyū is often hesitant to use Devil's Eye unless as a last resort. Yagyū unlocked her Devil's Eye following the tragic death of her younger sister, Nozomi. Overwhelmed with grief and refusing to let the memories of her sister fade, her right eye mutated into several shades of red, resembling broken blood vessels. Because Yagyū was wearing her makeshift eyepatch when this happened, its destructive power is entirely contained within it. It is implied that Devil's Eye can vary from person to person, and thus no two Devil's Eyes are ever exactly the same. There is little information on the true scope of the power and potential of the Devil's Eye. Each variation seems to manifest its power in different ways, and whether Yagyū has truly tapped into the full potential of her own Devil's Eye remains to be seen. The only true constant among Devil's Eye is that it is fueled by negative emotions. Demon Slice is a sub-ability of Yagyū's Devil's Eye, displaying red squid-like tendrils shooting out of her right eye and destroying everything nearby until she covers it again with her eyepatch. No other abilities of Devil's Eye have been shown so far. A descendant of Fūma Kotarō, she comes from a historically righteous and good family. She struggles in school and is a frequenter of supplementary lessons, however she is constantly cheerful and positive. Having the same circumstances as Asuka, she feels a sense of affinity with her. Wielding chains with shuriken attached to them, she excels at long range slashing attacks. Fūma 16 years old has short spiked orange hair with a small amount pulled into a ponytail held by a thin white ribbon. Her eyes are a pale golden-brown. She is often depicted with monkey ears and a tail, or with a cheeky expression. Her outfit is composed of a revealing white tank-top lined by thin black stitching and a gold bow on the front and back that matches the bandanna tied around her neck like a scarf. She wears long black fingerless gloves with a strap of dark gold and brown on top of them that ties beneath the arm. A single ring of dull, dark green is below the cuff. For bottoms, she wears plain black spandex shorts and her shoes are black with a brown section on top of them, covering her lower leg. When wearing the Hanzō Academy uniform, Fūma wears a yellow neckerchief - this is one way to determine if she is disguising herself as Asuka. Another noticeable trait will be the small tufts of orange hair on the bottom of her head. The vest and top are lines in gold, as is the short white pleat skirt beneath them. Covering her upper-chest, arms, hands, and neck is silver armor with gold accenting and boots that match. She wears black tights. Where Katsuragi has blue as her theme color, Ayame uses red. She has very long, loose flowing hair of black with thin bangs. On the side of her hair is a thin red ribbon tied into a bow. Her eyes are deep red. Ayame's outfit is composed of a tight white top with the sleeves rolled past her shoulders and a loose dull red tie. It is buttoned in a way to reveal the center of her chest, stomach, and neck. Her skirt is a plaid design of ruby and peach with pale pink lines all over it. She wears the same iron boots as Katsuragi, but they are red and gold with a single pink bow on it. She wears them with thick white socks. Unlike Katsuragi, she also has on a pair of iron gauntlets with the same coloring as her boots. Her sleeves beneath them match her socks and are held by dull red ribbon. Above all else Ayame's own desires take precedence, she's a very relaxed, her pace sort of girl. She greatly admires Katsuragi from the first day she saw her at middle school and follows her everywhere. However, her personality is very different, as she is much more feminine than she is. In other words, she has a very sweet and helpful personality, until she starts to struggle or is provoked or harassed by customers. Besides, Ayame is much more direct than Katsuragi when it comes to dressing up and showing almost everything. She's doing well with her 'I want to harass you' appeal. She wants to kill her past self to move on, which is a very negative way to live. Secret Ninja Arts: Rocket Girl - Ayame takes a stance as her gauntlets and iron boots both begin to charge. She then starts out with a quick series of jabs before she ensues an onslaught of rapid kicks; sucking in her opponent. She then proceeds to roundhouse kick followed by a swift uppercut to send the opponent flying. She then jumps up with her fully charged boots and stomps into the ground as her enemy helplessly falls into place for her final attack. Reverse Spindle - Ayame props down on one knee before getting down on all fours to preform a break dance motion. She swings her lower body about whilst maintaining momentum with her arms. She eventually picks up speed and begins to rapidly spin outwardly in a mini tornado; becoming completely mobile at this time. She ends it off with a bursting handstand trying to emulate her senior, only to fall over in failure. Red Scorpion - Ayame summons a shop stall and then starts throwing random items at enemies, ranging from sweets to a rubber duck. Afterwards, she then throws three drawers at the enemy which results in an explosion of panties. The attack can be somewhat aimed with the analog stick.
