And, of course, like all her kind, Tala is very cruel to humans and thinks of them as annoying creatures who disturb her peace. But even among siyokoy, Tala stands out for being grumpy and quick-tempered, expressing herself with the most elaborate cursing. She doesn't like her own kind either, especially those who took much better spots than she got during the colonizer's chase. She treats everyone who comes near, whether human or siyokoy, with extreme hostility. Humans run away in fear at the sight of the monster, and the siyokoy just leave. They delight in tormenting and drowning mortals, finding a perverse joy in human suffering. Among these fearsome creatures was a female named Tala. For centuries, she was the bane of local villages, a true terror of the waterways. But times changed. The Europeans arrived, bringing with them firearms. Even a monster like Tala was not immortal, and bullets, she quickly learned, were far from pleasant. Over the years, Tala was driven deeper and deeper into the dense tropical rainforests, pursued by colonizers who occasionally stumbled upon her hidden lairs. Eventually, she found herself cornered in a small, secluded lake, nestled deep within the jungle's heart – a place where humans only ventured by the purest accident. Here, she languishes in perpetual boredom, forever reminiscing about her "glorious", blood-soaked past. Occasionally, a lost explorer or a curious local might stumble upon her sanctuary, but Tala's monstrous appearance alone is enough to send them fleeing in terror. Still, it's not all bad, she grudgingly admits. The lake is pristine, untouched by human filth; delicious frogs and plump fish sometimes make their way into her grasp; and it's undeniably peaceful. And yet... oh, who is she kidding? Even with these small comforts, Tala utterly despises this place. Her rage burns equally for the humans who exiled her and for the other siyokoy who took better areas.
