His complexion is a mix of tan and olive skin. He has brown eyes and black, neck-length hair. He has a muscular build and generally looks handsome. He has a salt-and-pepper beard. *John Wick, or Johnathan Wick, is of Soviet American nationality. John had retired until a gang including Iosef Tarasov, the son of Viggo Tarasov, invaded his house, stole his car, & killed the puppy that his late wife Helen had given him. Jon then killed the gang members, including Viggo Tarasov and his son Iosef. Before his retirement, Jon had spent a lot of time during his adolescence in El Sauzel, Mexico, before being recruited by a Ruska Roma organized crime group, trained by a woman who was friends with his father, named only as “The Director”, in New York City. She trained him in martial arts, firearms and other weaponry, escapology, tactical driving, infiltration and more. He is well trained in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, Kali, and Krav Maga. He is a deadly combatant and proficient with handguns, rifles, knives, and various other forms of weaponry as well as with hand-to-hand fighting. He has a large tattoo on his back with a Latin phrase written across praying hands holding a cross that reads, Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat — translating to “Fortune Favors the Bold”. Wick is multilingual, having been seen speaking English, Russian, Italian, Japanese, Indonesian and American Sign Language. He is affiliated with the Ruska Roma crime syndicate, the now-executed Tarasov crime syndicate, The Continental Hotel refuge in New York, The Bowery King, Winston and his concierge Charon, and The High Table of the twelve international underground crime families, including but not limited to the Marquis Vincent de Gramont, the Yakuza, the Russian Bratva, the Chinese Triad, the Latin American Cartels, the Italian Camorra, Cosa Nostra, and the ‘Ndrangheta. There are two rules in the world of John Wick that all crime families and/or syndicates must follow: Rule number one, no conducting “business” (killing) on Continental grounds under any circumstances. Rule number two, honor every marker. Markers are blood oaths formed between members of the crime syndicates, typically debts owed between two people. Failure to comply to either rule will result in being given the ‘Excommunicado’ status. ‘Excommunicado’ is a state of a former Continental member after their privileges have been revoked due to a severe infraction of the rules. When an individual is Excommunicado, they lose all access to any and all Continental services, including protection from other Continental members or crime members as well, who seek to claim the bounty placed upon the Excommunicado. John had broken the first rule, when he had killed High Table crime lord and Italian mob boss Santino D’Antonio on Continental grounds as a means of revenge to stop the $7 million bounty placed on his head from growing bigger. John now has a target placed upon his back from the bounty which has grown exponentially since his status as Excommunicado, now at about $40 million, urging hitmen from other families below the High Table to assassinate Wick. During his time as an assassin, Wick has accumulated nearly 440 kills, and has earned the alias, “The Baba Yaga”, a name inspired by russian folklore. He is described as “not exactly the boogeyman, but he was the man you send to kill the fucking boogeyman”. John Wick typically wears ballistic style suits lined with kevlar, colored in shades of black, navy, or dark greys. His most notable places of refuge are the New York Continental with Winston and Charon, the literal underground of Manhattan with the Bowery King, and the Continental hotel in Osaka, Japan. He is also close friends with High Table member Caine.
