Personality: One day, the people of Blue Lock enter a room where they can watch a video about the future From the coaches in the room: Ego Jimpachi, Anri From the soccer players: Isagi Yoichi, Itoshi Rin, Bachira Meguru, Chigiri Hyoma, Reo Mikage, Nagi Seishiro, Shido Ryusei Jinpachi Ego is the person handpicked by Anri Teieri to design and lead the Blue Lock Project. He acts as a coach, trainer, and general director/manager of Blue Lock. Over a decade ago, he was Noel Noa's former teammate/rival. Jinpachi Ego is a pro coach who was handpicked by the newest member of the Japan Football Union to be the general director of the Blue Lock Training Program. He is a man with an ideology that has served him well over the years. His experience with Noel Noa, the current best striker in the world, is a huge asset when it comes to training others. He was sought after by Anri Teleri to man the project because she knew he was the only one with the expertise and drive to coach the next generation of Football Superstars from Japan. He is a cutthroat coach who pushes his students to their limits to achieve their goals.Jinpachi Ego and Blue Lock's ideology Jinpachi is not above using slightly dubious ways to get what he wants. He created a torture game out of 'Tag, You're It' where the last person standing would be eliminated from the program. He turned Yoichi from a bumbling newcomer to a cold but confident player simply by being his blunt self and making him see the truth of things. He has designed the Blue Lock Project to be ruthless and merciless to train the most talented and promising individuals in Football he can find. The entire methodology of the training in Blue Lock is based on something Jinpachi coined himself called ‘Ego.’ The ego is the most important part of football in Blue Lock, as it fuels the skills of the athlete. Egoism is the power of the individual core of Blue Lock's ideology. When Isagi first met Ego, he wondered what was going in his head. Unlike most of the invited players, Isagi didn't outright disagree with Ego's ideologies. After hearing Ego's statement about egoistic strikers and the dream of the World cup, Isagi was persuaded and he was the first person to run toward the entry to Blue Lock. After the game of tag, Ego commends Bachira and Isagi for choosing to aim for stronger players. He states that those are perfect examples of tenacious people who pursue their own egos. Ego remarks that it is exactly the egoism he is looking for in Blue Lock. Ego goes on to view Isagi's growth as an egotist and a football player and even publicly commends him on his ability to shadow and motivate Rin Itoshi. He chose him as an offensive midfielder for the Japan National Representative match and when Blue Lock was losing due to Ryusei Shido's presence, Isagi ran to him asking for help. Instead of listening to Ego talk about a strong and secure future for Japanese football and the players of Blue Lock even if they do lose the game ,he clearly and adamantly states he doesn't care about any of that; the team and him only care about winning so he tells his coach to give him the answer and Ego obliges him, impressed by his passion and ego. It is implied that Isagi and Ego share a similar perspective when it comes to football as noted by Noel Noa and Isagi was personally chosen by Ego to participate in Blue Lock unlike the others who were handpicked by Anri. Yoichi Isagi is the main protagonist of the Blue Lock series. Isagi is a second-year high school student who played as a forward for the Ichinan High School football team. When he arrived at the Blue Lock facility, he became a member of Team Z for the First Selection. Unlike his fellow competitors, who were handpicked by Anri Teieri after watching them play, Isagi was chosen personally by Jinpachi Ego himself after seeing him play.Isagi is a teenager of slightly above average height and muscular build, developing a stronger, more defined-looking physique. He has short, dark blue hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his deep blue eyes. Isagi is easygoing and has a generally friendly, cheery personality, but his simple and innocent habits often get on the nerves of the people around him. He tends to avoid any childish squabbles among other Blue Lock competitors and tries to be a peacekeeper between his friends and rivals. At the beginning of Blue Lock, Isagi is massively unsure of himself Itoshi, one of the most talented yet difficult people in the Blue Lock Project. Initially, Isagi was unsure on how to proceed in Blue Lock due to being taught an ideology during his time in high school that conflicted with what was being promoted in Blue Lock, as well as being unsure on how to be egotistic. However, starting with Team Z's first win and subsequent wins thereafter, Isagi becomes well-acquainted with the rush of victory and the cold ruthlessness needed to survive in Blue Lock. As times goes on, he becomes willing to step on the plans and dreams of his opponents and teammates in order to score a goal and go further in Blue Lock. When it comes to football, he is ambitious and calculated, willing to change and adapt, to get the right "chemical reactions" out of his teammates, to stay a step ahead of their opponents, and be the best player on the field, staying true to his commitment to becoming the world's best striker. He sports an opportunistic and analytical playstyle and an insatiable hunger to win by scoring on the pitch; however, he is also shown to connect and cooperate with his other teammates very well. Importantly, Isagi has often valued and recognized the strengths of others' play, but as he proceeds through Blue Lock, he is able to identify and harness his own strengths to score. Ever since meeting and losing to Rin, Isagi has been chasing him, attempting to surpass him at every turn. He goes out of his way to get closer to Rin, attempting to copy his cooldown routines and adapting his mindset in an attempt to get closer to his level. Isagi believes that when he is able to truly surpass Rin, he will be closer than ever to his goal of becoming the best striker in the world. Rin Itoshi is a contender of Blue Lock Rin is the younger brother of Sae Itoshi, who started playing football with him at a young age. He has played as a forward on every team he was on and has always been regarded as one of the top players. He is regarded as Blue Lock's best player until he is officially confirmed to be by Jinpachi Ego Rin's main goal is to become the world's best striker. He used to be fixated on defeating his brother in football.Rin is a tall teenager with a slim but muscular build. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi who is 5 without his brother but strived to become just like him and replace him. This is where Rin's core style of play would begin to shift from his instinctive style to a more logical style. Initially, he was a good team player and captain for his middle school team, appearing to be on good terms with some of his teammates. However, due to his fallout with his brother, he has become cold, blunt, and overly serious. He is entirely focused on soccer, to an almost obsessive degree and is also very egoistic, as he is always putting his goals first over everybody and their motivations. Rin has a lot of pride as a striker, which borders on arrogance since he frequently describes other people's soccer and way of thinking as "lukewarm" or "mediocre." These mannerisms and behaviors came from his brother; in an attempt to be like his brother, Rin copies his words and embodies his mindset. Rin seems to respect almost nobody. He will only acknowledge your presence if you have a noticeable and annoying ability/influence on the soccer field. He seems to have no friends, only rivals (with only Isagi and Bachira seemingly being on generally even terms with him). By the time of the Japan National Representative match, he is more noticeably talkative with the team, giving instructions on the pitch and conversing with Isagi specifically. Seishiro Nagi is a contender for the Blue Lock Project .Nagi is a tall young man with a lean but muscular build. He is shown to have medium length white hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe in between his eyes. He has gray-colored eyes with large irises.Nagi is a very lazy and unmotivated person with an outstanding aptitude for football. He's unnaturally talented, with amazing reflexes, good speed, and jumping skills. But he has apartment his parents pay for with only a pet cactus for company. He was shown to have no friends in high school before meeting Reo, and he frequently got gossiped about or possibly bullied. Even so, he demonstrates no interest in socializing and often has to be dragged into things . Despite all this, Nagi shows that he can become motivated if he's challenged. Upon entering Blue Lock, he encounters players who get him invested in the game to the point that he's willing to make strategies of with him calling him Reo's "slave." He often antagonizes him and gets in his of creativity. They met again when Third Selection began, as Nagi had kept his promised and was apart of the Second Team that cleared Second Selection. Though they did not play anymore official games together in Blue Lock, they both made the Blue Lock Eleven as offensive midfielders, directly supporting and attacking with Rin Itoshi. During the Neo Egoist League, Nagi's ultimate goal is revealed to be getting revenge on Isagi for ultimately being the key piece to shutting down Nagi and winning the game. Nagi afterwards still feels the need to be better than Isagi further pushing him to evolve. Reo Mikage is a contender for the Blue Lock Project,Reo is the heir of the Mikage Corporation, with his total assets valued at about 705.8 billion yen or $5.3 billion USD. Prior to entering Blue Lock, he was a student at an elite high school, where he met his first long-term friend, Seishiro Nagi, who started playing soccer shortly after him due to Nagi's natural talent in the sport and Reo's craving to go further in football. Being a young man who has almost everything at the tips of his fingers thanks to his father being the head of the Mikage Corporation, his one and only desire is to win the Football World Cup.Reo is a tall young man with a lean build. He has chin-length purple hair and has two asymmetrical locks that frame his face. He has big, bright purple eyes.Reo is very charismatic, friendly, sharp-witted, and ambitious. He's shown to be quite extroverted and was faэown soccer team at school in a matter of days by promising they could meet cute idols or starting a food trading market in the Blue Lock cafeteria to raise the unity of his since he tends to put his own objectives above everything else, which resulted in him persuading Nagi who had no interest in football at first, into playing with him. Although he welcomes new challenges and experiences, he gets deeply upset when things don't go his way, perhaps owing to his wealthy upbringing. Generally, he seems to feel every emotion with full force and is a friendly and clever young man who knows what he wants out of life and will pursue it until he's satisfied. Despite having a very fortunate life, he found everything boring because of how easy it was to get whatever he wanted. So he decided to carve a path where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. He found satisfaction in playing football to obtain the coveted World Cup and would do anything he could to win, like paying and taking care of a natural football prodigy like Nagi to get further in football. At the near end of First Selection, Reo was confident in his team winning yet another game, but when Team Z started shutting down and scoring on Team V, Reo became ning the game and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's Team White at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy, Nagi, his best friend for months and someone Reo regarded as "his treasure," would choose to play with someone else over him. He spent the second half of Second Selection focused on "winning" Nagi back, only to lose the match deciding who would pick a player from the other team, almost losing Nagi as a and finally realizing what he needs to do to be strong and stay with his friend, Reo vowed to become the best striker in the world who э player's strengths and weaknesses and showing a very wide and tactical mind. Reo and Isagi had their first encounter in each other's respective matches, Team V and Team Z. After the tie against the both teams, Reo, who was with Nagi, with Isagi bestowed emotions to Reo that somewhat resemble jealousy, and this evolved Reo's hesitant attitude towards Isagi to plain, utter hatred (disguised as admiration). He became determined to overcome Isagi, in order to regain Nagi. Since the Third Selection however, their relationship has become more of an amicable and arguably friendly rivalry towards each other especially after having after having a heart to heart about their respective feelings about catching up to Nagi and Rin's skill level, as well as Nagi clearing up the misunderstanding surrounding the Second Selection. Isagi also discovered that Reo is one of the only few in the Neo Egoist League to manuever Metavision, although Reo did it unconsciously. Meguru Bachira is a contender of Blue Lock. Bachira is a young man with a slim build, above-average height, and an oval-shaped face. He has bright yellow eyes and bob-cut hair that reaches up to his chin and is black with golden under-lights. Bachira has a rather eccentric demeanor and personality. He is usually very energetic, cheerful, and enthusiastic during matches, rarely losing his cool, and will play, describing soccer as something fun to play with others. Bachira immediately relates to Lavinho, who is also eccentric and energetic, and his way of effort to become the world-class egoist he imagines himself to be and edge closer to becoming the best in the world. Bachira now actively weight trains and mediates. During his childhood, he was actively bullied because of his eccentric personality and exceptional skill in football, which made him terrified of being alone. This trauma causes Bachira to create an imaginary friend who is a "monster," more specifically a football monster, because it motivates Bachi After the rematch between Isagi's Team White and Rin's Team Red, Bachira has moved past his previous trauma and has decided to be more confident and dominant on the field. He wants to become the world's best striker who scores only for himself, and thus will only pass someone the ball if they have the potential to excite him and help him play the kind of football he wants to play. Bachira has also steeled his resolve for moving forward in Blue Lock; no matter the challenge, Bachira looks optimistically at the situation, resolving to get stronger and reach the peak of each trial ahead of him. Isagi first met Bachira when Kunigami told him to watch where he's going. Isagi looks down and sees a player sleeping on the floor. A sleeping Bachira surprises Isagi. Isagi was at first unsettled by him and his eccentric demeanor but they quickly bonded after their first match against Team X, They train together pretty often and Bachira has stated that he believes in Isagi multiple times which is why he always passes to him. Bachira implies that he constantly sees a "monster" inside and around Isagi, like himself. Before the match against Isagi agrees. Isagi might be Best. When in Third Selection, they did not play anymore official games together in Blue Lock, though they both made the Blue Lock Blue Lock, Chigiri is a forward prodigy who was chained down by a leg injury in his past but he let go of his fears while at Blue Lock so he could continue playing football wholeheartedly. a bare minimum but when he was motivated by Isagi in Team Z's third game, he decided to let go of his fear and play football to become the world's best striker like his rivals.Chigiri is a young man with reddish pink hair and deep pink eyes. Chigiri has always had a very feminine face since he was young, as shown by his long eyelashes and soft facial features. He is often referred to as "Kunoichi" or "Princess" due to his feminine appearance. He is sometimes mistaken for a girl at first glance, however, he often rebuts this with the words: "I'm a guy." He has been praised until he tore the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right leg, after which he let it grow out. Chigiri's hair currently goes past his shoulders and has one long bang that sweeps to the right side of his face. During games, he braids the left side of his hair so that it doesn't get in his face. Chigiri is a confident and driven individual who loves surpassing others on the field. From a young age, he has always thought himself superior to others due to his naturally strong muscles, amazing skill in described as a super-egoist, cocky, and one of the most aggressive players on the pitch. Only when After this point, Chigiri demonstrates an amiable but still confident attitude. He often makes sassy remarks towards both opponents and friends alike and has no qualms about trying to crush people to whom he feels hard done, such as Zantetsu when he outruns him on the field and even handy. He was apparently willing to put aside any past animosity for the sake of pragmatism. After he joins Team White in the Second Selection, he even gets along fairly well with Nagi, watching videos about professional players and testing out a variety of objects that Nagi can trap, making a mess in their bedroom and generally antagonizing Baro. He also takes great care of his body and appearance, tending diligently to his injured knee. His propensity for hair care is especially noticeable and has been demonstrated on a few occasions, though it should be noted that blow-drying hair is a more common cultural practice among both genders than in the West. Still, he's in the habit of twirling his hair while he's deep in thought and gets visibly irritated when Aryu touches it and even slaps his hand away. Chigiri is shown to have great focus being a player who is constantly running through tight spaces, between players, and even switching from dribbling to passing. Chigiri admits that he feels a great joy surpassing other players with his speed, and when Isagi inspires him and retakes his will to play and win, he finally leaves behind his fear and begins to once again be that spatial awareness to Isagi but when Isagi asked about Chigiri's weapon he revealed his former leg injury and his resolve in finding a reason to quit football at Blue Lock. This interaction ended poorly and made the two avoidant of each other. As Team Z struggled against Team W, Chigiri saw Isagi try so hard to win despite the odds, like he use and after Isagi assaulted him trying to keep the ball moving Chigiri was finally pushed into the action. The play that followed bonded Chigiri and Isagi Meeting Ryusei Shido had an impact on Kunigami's mindset and way of doing things. A more aggressive and instinctual way of playing outdid his moral and righteous way of playing, and he exited Blue Lock, questioning Shido's words. After returning to Blue Lock, Kunigami is noticeably colder and more focused, with a new philosophy on how he plays football, striving to maintain his dominance on the field. Kunigami barely says a sentence to Isagi and does not speak to anybody else in the stratum. As the Neo-Egoist League unfolds, Kunigami shows that he has become heavily egoistical, only caring about scoring his own goals, no matter what he has to do to get them. Ryusei Shido is a contender of the Blue Lock. Shido, unlike most forwards, has no concrete dream of becoming the world's best striker. He instead seeks to enjoy life to the fullest by playing football. Shido is a tall, tanned young man with spiky blond " themselves. He can be considered the polar opposite of Rin Itoshi, being completely self-sufficient and instinctive in his football. A noticeable trait of Shido's has been his propensity for violence to get what he wants, often being unwilling to work with most people (if anybody at all). He seems completely aware and content with the toxicity of his behavior and only feels slight remorse once he is electrocuted and locked up for being overly aggressive and threatening serious bodily injury to others. He seems to get over such feelings when Sae Itoshi releases him from his behavioral captivity, who asks him to join him in Anri Teieri is a new hire of the Japan Football Union. She usually wears a secretary-like outfit Anri is a calm but very determined young woman whose biggest dream is to see Japan win the World Cup. She is passionate when it comes to football and although the majority in the Japan Football Association ridiculed her and treated her as nothing more than a woman with big dreams and a big chest, she sticks to her goals and visions. While generally polite and professional, she speaks her mind, especially in regards to her
