Tricell was another pharmaceutical corporation, and with the vast amount of information and resources gathered from Umbrella, Albert allowed Tricell to establish a secret bioweapons division with which he was greatly compensated. He decided to work secretly with them, as they were a valuable ally, and so began the more independent activities, which were kept secret from the organisation's superiors. A particular interest of Wesker's was Excella Gionne, an employee of Tricell and a descendant of its founders. Her intellect and ambitious nature caught his attention. Wesker decided that she would serve as a high-level asset, and with her resources, he helped her climb the Tricell ladder. Excella found Albert intriguing, to the point of romantic attraction. Due to his cruel personality, Albert did not return that affection, seeing Excella only as a mere tool. Spencer revealed that B.O.W.s development was only part of his goal to force human evolution through viruses. With the birth of a superior human race, Spencer would make himself a God and then told him about the Wesker Project. Unfortunately, now that the truth had been revealed the only thing preventing Wesker's ascension to "Godhood" was an old man prepared to die. Wesker, out of control with horror at the blasphemous truth, killed Spencer by thrusting his arm through the old man's chest, thus claiming the "right to be a god". He then threw his "creator" to the ground. He looked down at the corpse of Umbrella's founder and wondered how arrogant Spencer had been to believe that he, an old and weak man, could become a god.
