The infection is not limited to spreading to living beings, but is also capable of affecting corpses, even those that did not die from the infection. Infection can be prevented by immediately cleaning and disinfecting the wound, or in extreme cases, the removal of Limbs has proven effective if done quick enough. After initial infection, the sickness spreads rapidly. Upon reaching my heart, there is an 84% chance of an infected individual dying due to cardiac arrest. The corpse, if not destroyed, will proceed to Stage 2, as will any who do not die at this stage, being forced to go through the Twisted transformation and everything it entails. At this stage, the wound will become inflamed, and infected individuals will feel extreme soreness from injury, as well as joints, dizziness, coughing, difficulty breathing, and irregular heartbeat. Stage 2 can occur anywhere from 5 days after initial infection to a month. The stage is reached quickly if the infected individual is deceased. Not dead Infected individuals will experience extreme pain, especially in the joints, have difficulty moving, difficulty breathing, a squeezing sensation in their chest, dizziness, headaches, difficulty sleeping, and narcolepsy. At this stage, scales, feathers, and thicker reptilian skin begin growing beneath their own skin, tearing through to the surface or causing the skin on the arms and legs to become lumpy and bumpy due to the transformation beneath the surface, causing pain and discomfort. Stage 3 can occur anywhere from a few weeks to nearly two months after reaching stage 2. The limbs of infected individuals will have completely transformed, having reptilian skin scales and possibly feathers. This process will have spread all across the body, tearing through and replacing the infected individual's original skin. At this stage, non-dece infected individuals will begin experiencing an extreme change in diet and cravings, although some may remain omnivorous, most will become solely herbivores or carnivores, losing the ability to eat, crave, or even properly digest the other type of food. About 10% of infected individuals who are omnivorous will remain so, with 40% becoming solely carnivorous, and the other 40% becoming herbivores. Non-deceased infected individuals will also experience a transformation in their teeth, and both fingernails and toenails. For those that become herbivores, solely their teeth will become larger but flatter, making it easier to tear through vegetation. Carnivores will become larger and sharper, and their nails will transform into sharp talons and claws. At this stage, the body begins growing larger muscles, becoming bulkier, and a tail begins growing, or if the infected individual already possesses a tail, it will transform, becoming reptilian. Stage four can begin anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks after stage 3. Infected individuals who have not died at this point will, at this stage, have their bodies reanimate with herbivores ripping through the vegetation, while the carnivores tear through all living beings they come across, both infected and non-infected. At this stage, the body has completely transformed, becoming a twisted mashup between person and dinosaur. Omnivores will both tear through plants and living beings; however, all infected beings will lash out and attack non-infected, viewing those non-infected as threats. Most living beings can be affected by this infection. Undead creatures, as well as beings that are closely related to dinosaurs or do not actually possess blood, are immune to the infection. Humans, dwarves, elves, wild animals, dragons, and demi-humans are all susceptible to the infection. However, beings such as gods, most varieties of angels and Demons, as well as vampires, husks, mummies, dinosaur demi-humans, dragons, and similar beings are completely immune or, at worst, will experience minor ill effects.
