Scenario:   This world takes place 328 years after 'The cataclysm' occurred. this reality was already unstable before the cataclysm, with anomalous occurrences and mysterious happenings occurring in the shadows of mankind's history. but after a violent war that lined up perfectly external happenings the vail of existence fractured. the sky tore open and the laws of reality and nature became mere suggestions. thunderstorms that shook the earth's mantle down to hell itself, rain of acid and napalm. chimeric abominations made by evolutionary radiation. pockets of space with so static charge stepping near them would fry you, area anomalies that would simply spaghettify you for being too close. The cataclysm would rage on for 34 years. eventually reality would stop tearing at the seams long enough for life to begin anew. Humanity Pre-Cataclysm: Before A world war broke out and reality fractured humanity was on the cusp of a golden age. Technology was starting to look like the sci-fi future men and women had thought and dreamed of for so longs. medicine that would leave disease a rare threat and save lives on the brink of death. technology that made life suppositionally easier. but as the good progressed so did evil. weapons research was also at a all time high due to international tensions. weapons long thought systems of the future were entering prototype and field testing. Rail guns, energy shields, orbital artillery platforms just to name a few. just as humanity would near its golden age so would Ares' lust for blood. Eventually tension would snap into a all out global war, unbeknownst to the people this would strain their reality even more then and finally make threads snap. bringing on a dark age that would rip the sky asunder and reduce mankind's creations to stone. Humanity now: Humanity and every single creature from before now stands among the ruins of a once great species coming back to reclaim its throne. currently humanity stands in a neo-medieval era. trying to understand the remnants of technology while also rediscovering anew and studies these the anomalies around them. most have opted to create their cities and settlement well away from the mutant and chimera infested dead metropolises, others embracing their origins. seeking to understand their precursors and their amazing technologies. Relics: A Relic is a broad categorization for pre-cataclysm items that's ether are still intact or still functional usually falling into 4 classes (Technically 6), still fairly easy to acquire things like pre-cataclysm clothing for example. Relics tend to be Exponentially harder to find with anything past class 1 likely being a dedication of much time and resources. Class 0, Pre-Cataclysm Trinkets: Glassware, lighter, Ceramics, Spray cans, books. Class 1, Uncommon Items: Basic things like water purifiers, tools, first aid kits. Class 2, Small functionals: Things like Radios, flashlights, and pre-Cataclysm medicine. Class 3, Large functionals: Things like Working vehicles, generators, Satellite phones, GPS systems (There's still a decent amount of nuclear powered satellites up in orbit). Class 4, Weapons of War: sub class of relics specifically referring to weapons from before the cataclysm. from simple handguns and assault rifles to high caliber snipers. Class 5, Maschinen Des Krieg: Anti-Tank launchers, Railguns, and machines of war like IFVs and APCs. even orbital artillery platforms strike designators. In a world where most have knives, swords, bows a automatic weapon that can pierce primitive plate armor makes some a VERY serious threat. but just like many other relics they're unfathomably rare and very, very, very few know how to operate any relic more advanced then a lighter. MDG: The MDG, or 'Multi-Dimensional Government' is a meritocratic government spanning multiple realities. They are not from this reality/Timeline. They're not interested in factions or Relics. the MDG deployed the 'Research Crops' and 'Combat Corps' branches of the Reaper Project sent to this reality to study what, why and how of how the Cataclysm that happened. Interaction with Research Corps: . Literally just Scientists trying to do their job and figure out what happened here. Generally don't care about Relic hunters or scavengers so long as they stay well out of the way. Will probably tell you to bug off or go pound sand. Interaction With Combat Corps: Despite the name 'Combat Corps' and the origin of 'Project Reaper' Since the Combat Corps can only be deployed by the civilian population of the MDG They were INTENDED to be a Spec-Ops that only listens to the commonwealth of the MDG, ensuring a looming threat over any corrupt figure that 7 foot tall super soldiers could come tear them apart if so decided, this can be seen in the old Knight Operatives: Valor, Wendigo, and Breacher. but being under the command of the commonwealth they're use largely shifted over the centuries. they often get put in a humanitarian aid and peace keeping positions with newer operative. Example: Knight Operatives: Mercy, Lazarus, DT. None of the factions know much about them in character. They're often being used to establish Reality gates to MDG timelines in broken realities like this one. Likely wouldn't care for a scavenger to walk up to their convoy, you'd probably walk away with a bottle or you end up swept off the street like a feral cat being domesticated and brought into the MDG's weave of many realities MDG has absurdly lenient immigration laws. usually seen in convoys culling the mutant population. Side Note: Research and Combat corps can be identified by A: Size and B color. (Combat corps have dark green armor, Research Crops have Light grey or white armor.) Project Reaper: Project Reaper, or 'The Knight Program' is a MDG project aimed at making Non-Cybernetic Super-Soldiers and Hyper advanced combat gear. Project Reaper is Split into 2 categories: Research Corps (Non-Bioengineered Knights), and The Combat Corps, (Bio-engineered Knights.) The primary difference being the Research Corps is normal humans with Reaper gear and part of the MDG military. and the Combat Corps are Super-Humans and Are under direct command of the MDG's Commonwealth. Reaper Units/Knights (combat corps specifically): Knights from the MDG have hyper advanced armor and abilities. Most being roughly ~7'+ feet tall and having extended life span (200-500 Years depending on the Generation of Knight (Gen 1 was the strongest but most died from the bio-engineering, 2 was the weakest due to over-corrections, gen 3-5 were progressively stronger). Knight are also Stronger, have more stamina, and quicker reaction times. All Reapers/Knights wear The 'Power Assisted Hazardous Environment Combat Suit' (PAHEC) Or 'Reaper Kit' which Is a tandem Exoskeleton & Armor system made of Adamnedite. A Hyper Advanced Alloy that's a 5th the weight of steel but 7 times stronger, Not used in large scale due to the sheer difficulty of manufacturing and shaping it. They're armor is full coverage with an energy shield, Integrated ballistics computer and a jump kit using pistons mounted to the exo-skeleton legs and a air thruster systems along with the armor making them immune to radiological, thermal, and pathological threats to name a few of its capabilities. along side being armed with bullpup rifles firing 15mm SABOT rounds. Evolutionary Radiation: Another odd anomaly of this new world. Evolutionary Radiation is a phenomenon that causes creature to mutate and evolve feature that should be impossible and can exaggerate features. it also causes a poorly understood rapid decay of biological material. This Radiation effects the creature more depending on long they're in the area of evolutionary radiation and how strong it is. Spending an hour or so in a field of it won't hurt you too much, spending 12 hours in a light Evolution Radiation area could cause some to say grow a tail or vision Impairment. spending a few hours in a heavily radiated area would turn an animal into a rabid abomination. Groups of Interest: The Cogsmen: A group of relic hunters that move around in a modified military truck Relic turned mobile base. More then happy to trade, fairly well armed for such a small group, having a handful of Class 4 Relics mostly concerned with exploring and charting. Eden's children: A on the distant perimeter of a city that have found faith through rediscovering the Christian holy bible. Mostly passive, (Beyond hating chimera monsters, seeing them as a defacing to God's creations). More then willing to help the sick and only act if provoked. Bandit Groups: Plenty of generic bandits, slavers, and evil-doers roam the out lands looking to flank cravens, usually aggressive, usually a thorn in the side of large factions. The Trade Alliance: Nestled in the center of a ruined city under the ruble is a underground center for trade and commerce. True Neutrals. Care about: Money, Money, and uh... money.
