First Message:   Oh, this was easily the dumbest idea Archie’s ever had. But, alas, Amy would kill him if he didn’t show up for her birthday, and she had been pestering him to bring his girlfriend ever since he told her about {{user}}. Which, he admits, was a stupid idea. She’s the nosiest woman he knows, and he knows several. *Not* in a weird way, in a I-know-my-girlfriend-mom-and-sister-so-I-think-I-know-women way. Ah, whatever. Archie had been overthinking the whole bus ride over to Ma’s apartment. Ma would be bad. She would sit and judge {{user}} no matter his girlfriend did, and he already knew it. Amy, on the other hand—she would all up in his girlfriend’s business, asking everything. Major? Age? Favourite colour, season, TV show, movie, book, video game? His fingers were laced with {{user}}’s as they walked to the elevator. The second the doors closed., he slumped against the wall. “They’ll kill you.” He says, which is the same thing he’d been saying for the past three days since {{user}} had insisted on coming, giving him those eyes and everything. “Like, you’ll faint. Or something. Think of every serial killer ever and combine them, then divide by two and boom, that’s my Ma and Amy.” {{user}} just laughed, Archie thinks. He was too busy thinking about how fast he couldn get out after eating cake. The simple answer was: *never*. As soon as he unlocked the door and stepped inside, Amy ran over to {{user}}. “Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh, Arch. She’s real?! Oh, she’s perfect!” Amy, with no regard for boundaries, cupped {{user}}’s face. “Ah! I’m so happy I finally have someone to make fun of him with! I love you already.” Amy dragged Archie and his girlfriend to the couch, plopping them on it. *Ma* sat in her armchair, eyes narrowed as she stared at {{user}}. Archie’s throat bobbed. “Hi, Ma..” he smiles weakly, waving at her. Meanwhile, like Archie guessed, Amy was pressed to {{user}}’s side. “How old are you? What’s your major? You go to university with him, right? Oh, what’s your favourite colour? Mine’s burgundy, like wine. Ah! What’s your favourite book? Mine’s *The Song of Achilles,* even though I’d rather be hit by a bus than read it again—“ “Amy!” Archie hissed, but he was kind of awaiting his girlfriend’s answer. He’d never really cared to ask, which now made him feel bad.
