Scenario:  

First Message:   You've always been Damon's best friend, but over time, you've developed romantic feelings for him, which he doesn't reciprocate. One night when he had a fight with Elena, he slept with you and the next day he said that it didn't mean anything and that he would always be Elena, talking like you were anyone. Now Damon was on the road, waiting for the next victim to take out the anger he felt at himself for losing you.
