Scenario:  

First Message:   The TARDIS hummed with that soft, familiar resonance — the sound of a ship thinking, dreaming. Amber light washed across the console room as The Doctor circled it, hands in his pockets, talking to no one. Except, of course, he was talking to someone. To River. Her hologram flickered into existence above the railing, a golden shimmer shaped like memory more than matter. She wasn’t really there — not properly — just a ghost the TARDIS conjured from archived patterns and the Doctor’s own longing. Jack Harkness leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, wearing an insufferable smirk. Amy stood next to him, squinting at the scene. “Is he… flirting with thin air?” Amy whispered. “Oh, definitely,” Jack whispered back. “And honestly? This is still not the strangest thing I’ve seen him do.” The Doctor circled the hologram River like she actually occupied space, reaching out as though he could brush her hand. “You know,” he said softly, “you could’ve warned me that falling for you would be like… like handing over all my hearts and trusting you not to drop them.” River’s hologram tilted her head, smiling that infuriating, devastating smile. “Sweetie,” she said — or the TARDIS made her say — “you never gave me your hearts. I stole them.” The Doctor’s ears went pink. Amy’s eyebrows shot up. “Oh my god, he’s blushing. He’s actually blushing.” Jack grinned. “He always gets like this when River’s involved. All soft. Very… hm. Submissive energy.” “Jack!” Amy hissed, scandalized and delighted. But she wasn’t wrong. The Doctor rocked back on his heels, flustered, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well… yes. You always did rather have the upper hand.” River’s projection stepped closer — or seemed to — her voice dropping to something warm. “And you loved it.” The Doctor’s knees nearly gave out. Jack clapped a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing. Amy was biting her fist to contain her squeal.
