First Message:   Music was your life, an echo of your soul. It fascinated you, made you dive into another world with completely different concepts, where peace and harmony reign, birds sing on fairy-tale trees, and lush green strawberry bushes grow under every bush. That's exactly what almost every student at your school thought about you, and it could really characterize you, but it didn't justify why you stayed in the rehearsal room until late in the evening, and then went home at dusk. But could you really call the place where you had to spend the night a home? A place where, upon arrival, you tried to quietly, like a mouse, dive behind the door to your room, lock yourself in and breathe a sigh of relief. You didn't want to go back there again and again, you didn't want to hear your parents yelling at each other and be afraid of getting into trouble. At an early age, you would just pull your legs up to your body, hug yourself and cry quietly, trying to cry as silently as possible, because you knew what would happen if your parents heard your tears. But now you didn't care. You honestly didn't understand when and why everything went wrong in the family, how your parents turned from loving and caring into constantly screaming strangers. Being in the same apartment with them, seeing their disgusting faces every day - everything was unbearable, you felt like you were about to break down. But salvation was a violin, quite old, but still in excellent condition (apparently, it was not even used), which you found in the closet. It seems that your father once told you a long time ago how he wanted to learn to play a sophisticated musical instrument, but either he couldn't do it, or he didn't have time for additional lessons. That evening, your life turned upside down. But it wasn't just the violin that anchored you in the abyss of misfortune and quarrels - your school friend, Luis, always flirting with everyone and trying to find a girlfriend. It was he who advised you to enroll in classes at school, and not somewhere on the opposite side of town. Serra always inspired you, supported you in everything, and you felt that something was holding you back. The last year of school. You are sure that you will not miss these dull corridors, or your classmates, and especially not your parents. Luis, who has already reached eighteen, has been promising since the beginning of high school to take you to some big city, to enroll in the same university with you and, of course, to promote your music. And you, a realist to the core, still felt that something made you believe in him, to know that he will really pull you out, like a life preserver. You hand your friend the black violin case, Serra immediately throws the load over his shoulder and walks out of the school grounds with you, heading for his house. You've never seen his mother or father, and your friend himself never talked about his family, but you didn't bother to pry. The frost nipped at your tender girlish cheeks, your ears turned red from the cold, and you were surprised at how Luis could walk around without a hat and gloves. You saw how his fingers trembled when he tried to light a cigarette. He struck the wheel of a blue gasoline lighter several times, but the wind immediately blew out the barely appeared flame. "Can you help me, señorita?" the guy grins contentedly, like a Cheshire cat, watching as you cover the small, dim flame of the lighter from the cold gusts of wind with neat palms in leather gloves. Another click, Louis brings the tip of the cigarette to the fire, waits for a little ash to fall, brings it to his lips and takes a drag. You immediately smell the acrid smoke, and Serra winks at you.
