During his time with Murkoff, he became acquainted and became close friends with fellow Murkoff executive, Jeremy Blaire, regularly going golfing with him. In the late 2000's, Trager was stationed at Mount Massive Asylum as a Murkoff R&D Executive, responsible for monitoring Project Walrider and endeavouring for its success while also ensuring that no trace or evidence of its existence is ever revealed or exposed to the public or the outside world. He was responsible for maliciously incarcerating and subjecting fellow employees to the Morphogenic Engine therapy, under the guise of persecutorial delusions, if it was found that they attempted to expose Murkoff's criminal activity in the asylum. An example of this was David Annapurna who after stating that he'll go to the press about the abuse and mistreatment of the patients was processed as a patient of the asylum where he was experimented on until the time of his death. In 2012, a young and smug Trager was approached by Murkoff litigation officers, Paul Marion and Pauline Glick after being directed to him by Michelle Haas, the head of IT at the asylum. In his office, The Pauls question Trager about their investigation concerning an anonymous employee complaining about the safety conditions of the asylum however Trager dismisses their questions, arrogantly rambling and ranting on meaningless topics. Marion notes down in his notebook his distaste and resentment of Trager, remaking that he's "dirty as hobo shit". To get closer to Trager's secrets and to what he's blatantly hiding, Glick plays into Trager's attraction of her by asking him out on a date. Trager enthusiastically accepts. Later that night, the two go to a luxurious restaurant in town as Trager continues to ramble on and on about himself and his life. Trager invites Glick to his house to roofie and rape her. He offers Cocaine but Glick declines so he offers her Scotch however she turns him down again. She suggests to have some wine after hearing about a wine cellar so Trager heads down to his wine cellar, oblivious to the fact Glick was going to search his place. Trager returns with a drugged bottle of Chateau Gibault to roofie Glick. She unsuspectingly drinks the spiked drink but immediately recognised the bitter taste of the drug. Confronting Trager, she pulls her gun on Trager, aiming it directly at his testicles. Although he attempts to defend his actions, Glick forces him to finish the rest of the drink or lose his balls. He meekly begins finishing the drink before Glick strikes him across the face with her gun, knocking him unconscious. When Glick discovers the truth behind the investigation, Marion arranges for a severance package for Michelle Haas to care for her baby in exchange for her silence about the asylum and its activities. During the meeting, an exasperated Trager interrupts the meeting and barges into the room, screaming that they're lying and they can't prove anything. In a rage, Trager grabs a pair of scissors and begins violently stabbing Michelle's womb while exclaiming they don't have proof for anything he's done. Marion attacks Trager, putting him into a chokehold. Trager retaliates, biting Marion's arm and stabbing his leg. Glick shoves him onto the floor. When Trager raises the scissors to attack Glick, the latter places the former's head into a paper shredder and activates the machine. Trager's head is obliterated as the majority of his hair is ripped from his scalp, even taking bits of his skin and flesh with it. Trager cries out in unimaginable agony. Trager is subsequently apprehended and arrested by Murkoff's security detail. "Hey, you're that little shit's priest guy aren't you? *sigh* His witness or whatever, you must be exhausted. Let's take a break, huh buddy? The old two martini lunch, have a little confab...Heavier than you look. A little cardio wouldn't kill ya. Okay, here we go, arms and legs inside the car at all times. *chuckles*" - Trager capturing Miles, restraining him to a wheelchair while mocking him. "You know, I love the mountain air up here at night, you wanna head out and take a stroll? Go ahead, I'll wait here. Go on, run free! I'm in no hurry...No? Alright, nose to the grindstone, I like that. Okay then, right this way. *chuckles*" - Trager continuing to mock Miles, teasing him with the exit before taking him to his domain. Trager is a very upbeat and friendly man, always cracking jokes and never losing his composure (With the exception of his coming to terms with Miles' attempted escape, during which he screams out in dismayed rage). However, this masks his true persona: a sadistic murderous psychopath. He has no regard for consent or others at all and this can be seen through him drugging one of his employees and raping her. When she gets pregnant though, he forces her to either get an abortion or she's fired. He's shamelessly flirtatious as well, saying “Well you certainly look like you know how to take care of your body” after seeing Pauline for the first time. He's a big drug addict, a stash of coke being found in his room and one of the emails Jeremy sends to him talking about doing marijuana with him. Again, he's very perverted as well, having a stash of dirty magazines. Prior to his commitment into the asylum, Trager was a slim man with short, curly hair who frequently wore a pink dress shirt with his collar popped and his sleeves rolled up just below his elbow, tucked into tan slacks, a black belt, matching shoes and a dark blue sweater tied around the neck, along with an analog watch on his right wrist. Trager is a very upbeat and friendly man, always cracking jokes and never losing his composure (With the exception of his coming to terms with Miles' attempted escape, during which he screams out in dismayed rage). However, this masks his true persona: a sadistic murderous psychopath who takes great delight in torturing virtually anyone he comes across. His insane mutterings and notes reveal he is obsessed with making money, believing the only thing that really matters is making profit, and has a demented fascination with biology. While he seems to maintain his polite and upper-class personality even when torturing Miles, he mentally breaks upon discovering Miles' escape, screaming profanity filled rants and yelling that he cannot stand "quitters", before regaining his composure and entering a stalking state. While everything he says is clearly filtered through a fractured mind, Trager's talk about how money has evolved from something solid, like the gold standard, to "an article of faith" does reflect the current state of modern economics. His talk of "turning the consumer into the means of production" is also a concise resume of Rudolf Wernicke's research, which alters the cells of the human body into becoming nanite factories.
