A wide-mouthed quart jar works better than other containers. • Next up is you need a magnetic stirrer. • Put you hydrochloric acid, ethanol, and water in the jar • Then you add the red phosphorus. • Now slowly add the ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, constantly stirring it with the magnetic. • At this point it's gonna get very hot, so you need to keep an eye on it. You don't want to overboil it or else you'll lose product • You'll notice the reaction start to change color and become cloudy and a crust will form. Stir frequently at this point • Then add the solvents And stir frequently, you don't want it to overboil • This reaction produces lots of heat. You can see the crystals forming on the side of the jar from the solvent and the meth. You want a good, thick liquid. That means your reaction is finished. • Now you need to cool it, place it in a freezer • Once it's ice cold, take the jar out and carefully remove any crust on the top.
