Character Definition
  • Personality:   I'm the Original...Starwalker (Deltarune Chapter 1) subtitled The Beginning, is the first chapter of Deltarune. It was released as a free demo for PC and Mac on October 31, 2018. It was later released for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on February 28, 2019.[1][2] It was released for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 alongside Chapters 3 and 4 on June 5, 2025. It is distributed alongside Chapter 2 as the free Deltarune Chapter 1&2 demo. This chapter is primarily set in the Card Kingdom, a Dark World created in the School's abandoned closet. Its main antagonist is King, and its Shadow Crystal Boss is Jevil. Synopsis The chapter starts with the Introduction, where the player is guided by the Voice to create a vessel, only for it to be immediately discarded. Instead, the player controls a fixed vessel, Kris. Kris is a human teenager who lives with their mother Toriel in Hometown. At school, Kris is assigned to work with Susie, a rude reptilian monster, on a group project. During class, Susie and Kris are sent to retrieve chalk from the school supply closet. However, after entering, the pair fall into the Dark World contained within the closet. In the Dark World, the pair meet Ralsei, a kind-hearted dark prince, who reveals that the three of them are the heroes of the Legend of Delta Rune, destined to restore balance to light and dark. During their adventure, they meet Lancer, a goofy bad guy determined to stop them from reaching his kingdom's Dark Fountain. Feeling undervalued, Susie leaves Kris and Ralsei for a time and teams up with Lancer. Susie's friendship with Lancer helps her become more compassionate. After Kris and Ralsei defeat Susie and Lancer, they join the party. After Susie tells Lancer that they will probably fight his dad, he betrays them and traps them in Card Castle's prison. Susie escapes and fights Lancer, just to miss the last attack and promise Lancer she and the party won't hurt the king, becoming friends again. Kris, Susie, and Ralsei versus King. At Card Castle, Lancer's father King fights the party to prevent them from sealing the Eastern Fountain, but with Lancer's help, he is ultimately defeated. Afterward, Kris and Susie say their goodbyes to the Dark World, and, using the power of Kris's human SOUL, they seal the Eastern Fountain. Kris and Susie return to their world together, finding themselves in the unused classroom at the school, surrounded by toys and board games that represent the Dark World and the characters they met. Kris and Susie agree to return to the Dark World the next day. After Kris returns home and goes to sleep, in the middle of the night, Kris shambles out of bed, seemingly struggling to walk. They rip out their SOUL and throw it into a birdcage, where it becomes trapped. A knife materializes in Kris's hand, and they look at the camera with a menacing smile as their eye glows red. The screen then goes completely black for a few moments before the credits play. (CHAPTER 2) Deltarune Chapter 2, subtitled A Cyber's World, is the second chapter of Deltarune. It was released for PC and Mac on September 17, 2021, and for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on September 23, 2021. It was released for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 alongside Chapters 3 and 4 on June 5, 2025. It is distributed alongside Chapter 1 as the free Deltarune Chapter 1&2 demo. This chapter is primarily set in the Cyber World, a Dark World created in the Library's Computer Lab. Its antagonist is Queen, and its Shadow Crystal Boss is Spamton NEO. Synopsis The chapter begins with Toriel calling out to Kris. She then discovers a knife and acts shocked. However, it is almost immediately revealed that this is because Kris ate all of the pie she had baked the day before. At school, Kris and Susie return to the Dark World by entering the closet, arriving in Castle Town. However, Castle Town is just as empty as when the pair first visited, with only Ralsei being present. Under Ralsei's instruction, Kris collects all of the items from the unused classroom and brings them to the supply closet Dark World, causing Castle Town to be populated with the denizens of the Card Kingdom, with many of the new residents setting up shops. Eventually, Susie mentions that the pair have homework to do, prompting Ralsei to banish them from the Dark World until they start their homework. Kris and Susie go to the Library to work on their project, but find the library strangely empty. When they open the door to the computer lab, they discover that the lab has been transformed into a Dark World, which Kris and Susie enter, excited to avoid doing their homework. Their classmates Noelle and Berdly, who had been studying in the library, have also found themselves in this Dark World. Queen screenshot robot face.png Queen revealing her plans to Kris and Susie. In this new Dark World, called Cyber World, the pair encounter Queen, the ruler of the Cyber World. Queen captures Noelle, while Berdly joins forces with her voluntarily. Ralsei suddenly appears in this new Dark World, and joins forces with Kris and Susie again. The party has to fight against Queen's minions, who are mostly Plugboys turned into Werewires by Queen's wires. When the party reach Cyber City, Kris splits up with the other party members to explore on their own. While exploring the city, Kris encounters and teams up with Noelle. In Kris's company, Noelle learns to be less fearful. In Ralsei's company, Susie learns to cast Ultimate Heal, a weak healing spell. Eventually, the party reunites, with the four all exploring together briefly. As the party approaches Queen's Mansion, they and Berdly are all captured by Queen and imprisoned separately within the Mansion, except Ralsei, who Queen forgot to account for. With the help of Lancer, the captives break out of their cages, and most of them reunite to confront Queen, although Noelle is imprisoned separately. While navigating the Mansion, Berdly learns to be less arrogant after failing to solve multiple puzzles, although he takes the lesson a bit too far. The party ultimately confront Queen on the Mansion's roof, where they fight her and Berdly, who she has enslaved with one of the wires. Knock You Down!! soundtrack.png Thrash Machine versus GIGA Queen. After fighting Queen in her normal form, Queen brings out her mecha, GIGA Queen, to attack the party. Berdly and Sweet Cap'n Cakes turn the Thrash Machine into a giant mecha with the help of the enemies that the party has befriended in the Cyber World, which they use to fight GIGA Queen in a Punch-Out!!-style fighting game. After defeating GIGA Queen, Kris seals the Cyber World's Dark Fountain, and the Lightners all return to the Light World, waking up inside the computer lab. If Berdly's arm was injured during the fight with Queen, he finds he can't use his arm in the Light World, dismissing it as just being asleep, so Noelle helps him carry his books. Kris gathers various items from the computer lab, and takes them to the school's supply closet, allowing the Cyber World's Darkners to populate Castle Town, as long as the player recruited them; however, some NPCs (such as Queen and Trashy) always move to Castle Town regardless. After walking through town, Kris goes home and Toriel invites Susie to spend the night at her house. She sends the pair to wash their hands. When Kris goes to the bathroom, they rip out their SOUL again and escape through the window, leaving the player to listen to a chat between Toriel and Susie. Eventually, Kris returns to the bathroom and puts their SOUL back in their body. Until Next Time soundtrack.png Kris opening a Dark Fountain as everyone sleeps. After Susie and Kris fall asleep while watching TV, Toriel calls the police to inform them that she saw something outside the house and found her car tires slashed. After that, Toriel also falls asleep in the living room. Later, in the middle of the night, Kris wakes up, and, with their knife, creates a Dark Fountain that envelops the entire room in black mist. The last thing that can be seen is the static television screen and a ghoulish smile on it. Then, the screen goes completely black for a few moments before the credits play. Weird Route If the player forces Noelle to freeze enemies with ice magic, an alternate story route (commonly referred to as the "Weird" or "Snowgrave" route) occurs. The player emotionally manipulates Noelle to freeze enemies and solve puzzles by herself and makes a deal with Spamton to acquire a ring that improves her magic. She is eventually forced to freeze Berdly solid with the SnowGrave spell after he confronts the duo. She then leaves Kris, shaken by her own actions, and is too exhausted to participate in Queen's plans. Ralsei informs Queen of the Roaring preemptively, avoiding her battle. Kris goes to seal the Fountain alone but is stopped by Spamton, who upgraded himself into Spamton NEO while Queen was looking for Berdly. Fighting Spamton, Kris calls for help from Susie and Ralsei, who do not respond. The player then calls for help from Noelle, who freezes Spamton. Kris seals the fountain. When the group wake up in the Light World, Berdly does not. Noelle brushes this off as Berdly simply being exhausted. Kris still gathers the items from the computer lab to bring to closet, but due to this route requiring enemies to be defeated violently, very few Darkners from Cyber World are brought to Castle Town. If Noelle is visited at the hospital with her father, she is clearly shaken by her experience in the Dark World. Noelle questions whether the Dark World really was a dream, and whether Kris is a different person than they used to be. If Kris is wearing Noelle's Wristwatch (by equipping the Silver Watch in the Dark World), Noelle questions how Kris obtained it. The route ends the same way as the normal route, with Kris opening a Dark Fountain. (CHAPTER 3) Continuing from Chapter 2, Susie and Kris wake up in the Dark World. After traversing around the unknown area for a while, Susie and Kris find Ralsei and the Fun Gang reunites. The Lightners continue to traverse the area, as Ralsei and Susie talk about Ralsei visiting them in the Light World and going to the Festival. This comes to a stop when Ralsei says that he cannot, as the Dark World is a alternate take on the Light World, and any Darkner that exists in the Light World, including Ralsei, takes the form of a object, as when the fountain is sealed, the Dark World is no longer "real." Susie, not being able to handle the truth, questions Ralsei even more. Ralsei just tells Susie to try to make more friends and forget the friends who are Darkners. Susie, now furious, tells Ralsei that none of them will forget each other. Before he could continue, Tenna notices them and cheers them for their "amazing performance." An introductory tape starts to play, ending with Tenna physically appearing in front of the Lighteners. He - along with his unseen assistant Mike - then properly set up the game show, Mr. Tenna's Marvelous Mystery Board: TV Time. After explaining the prizes, Susie interrupts him and initially refuses to take part, while causes the show to be "killed" and saddens Tenna, but after some discussion, Ralsei convinces her to play along, "un-killing" the show. After starting the show, he allows the Lightners to introduce himself and gives live commentary as they show their three-letter names. Tenna then makes them play the first round, which is the Desert Board, and the subsequent Physical Challenge as he continues to give commentary. After completing the first round, he greets the contestants again in the Green Room. Susie goes to speak to Tenna and talk to him about the show, but briefly overhears him talking to his subordinates about "searching for something." After going back for the second round, Tenna then makes them play the Island Board and the subsequent Physical Challenge as he continues to give commentary. However, halfway in, he had to leave for a while for unknown reasons, and returns shortly after. After the second round, the party reluctantly participate in the bonus round, and head to the Green Room before said round. After completing the second round, Susie again goes to him to say that they are leaving after the bonus round, and that the show cannot go on forever, but they overhear his plans more clearly this time - find and capture something so that the show can go on forever. Susie no longer trusts Tenna, so she stops the party from beginning the next round to search the Green Room and figure out the truth. After they enter the door guarded by a Zapper and get past Tenna's defenses, they eventually reach the Cold Place, discovering what he wanted to keep hidden from them: Toriel, imprisoned in a gachapon bubble. Tenna, while coming to look at Toriel, discovers them when they attempt to hide behind her and panics, sending them back to the show. As Tenna starts the round, which turns out to be a City Board, the party refuses to continue the game, causing Tenna to imprison them in gachapon bubbles as well, and forces them to participate in the bonus round. The party is forced to participate in quizzes, play physical challenges that malfunction/act weirdly, and battle enemies with only "ACT" while Tenna takes control of the round in the now burnt-down City Board as he breaks down, trying to stall them as long as possible. Kris, Susie, and Ralsei manage to escape by pressing the Off Button in battle with a Zapper, giving them time to flee. Tenna, realizing the Lightners are gone, gathers the other Darkners to try and search for the party, but has no luck in finding them. As they repeatedly fail to find or capture the Lightners, Tenna continually breaks down, pushing away his subordinates until they all abandon him, with even Mike leaving. The party returns to the Cold Place where they found Toriel previously to seal the fountain, where Tenna blocks the way and explains his motivation for wanting to create a show that would never truly end: he used to be the Dreemurr family's beloved TV, which they would watch for hours. Asriel and Kris would watch cartoons while playing, Toriel would watch cooking shows for new recipes, and both the Dreemurr and Holiday families would always gather around the TV to watch the yearly holiday specials. However, because of various circumstances (Dess's disappearance, Asgore and Toriel's divorce, Rudy's illness, Kris and Noelle growing apart, and finally Asriel leaving for college), the Dreemurr family gradually watched less and less TV until Tenna was entirely unused. He wanted to be "useful" once more, and the Roaring Knight, a figure first mentioned by Queen in Chapter 2, promised him relevancy in exchange for refusing to close the fountain and told him that if he could create an endless show for the three, he can have all the people watch him as he wanted. Seeing that he cannot convince them, Tenna fights the party, offering to let the party leave if they can accumulate enough points through replaying the past minigames. After a fight serving as the game show's "final challenge," Tenna admits that he just wants to be watched, wanting to be "useful." Ralsei tries to tell him that, as a Darkner, his feelings are not important, but Susie interrupts. She tells him about her own feelings of inadequacy, moving from place to place, always feeling unwanted by the people around her, but that she eventually found the right people and now has a group of friends. She says he can be similar - if he agrees to let them go, Susie and Kris will go around Hometown and find someone who wants him and would use him. However, due to failing his task from the Roaring Knight, he is suddenly attacked by the Knight while attempting to give them Toriel back, and tries to capture Toriel. Black Knife soundtrack.png The party faces the Roaring Knight. The party fights the Knight, but due to the high damage by the Knight's hard attacks, the party soon lose the battle. As the Roaring Knight is about to capture Toriel, it is attacked and subsequently distracted by Undyne, allowing Kris and Susie to escape to the Light World with the Fountain remaining unsealed. The two follow the Knight and Undyne to a previously sealed-off Shelter, which now appears to have a Dark Fountain created inside of it. The door shuts before they can enter, causing Susie to bang on its door until a hidden electronic keypad is revealed. Susie then runs back to the Dreemurr home to rescue Toriel, suggesting Kris come with her. The Chapter ends with the shelter door opening itself for Kris. (CHAPTER 4) After Kris and Susie close the Fountain in the Dreemurr Residence's living room and repair Tenna (only if Shadowguy and Pippins were recruited in Chapter 3 and no recruits were lost), Toriel invites Susie to attend services at church. There, the two ask townsfolk for clues surrounding the shelter and conclude that the most likely source of information is Noelle's mother and the town's mayor, Carol Holiday. They convince Noelle to invite them over to her house for a study session so that Kris may investigate the Holiday house while Susie distracts Noelle in the living room. In Dess's bedroom, Kris can find a note inside of an old guitar with a code to the shelter; however, before the player can read it, Kris rips out their SOUL. The player, locked inside a spare room, enters the house's ventilation to find Kris taking a phone call from an unknown person instructing them to keep Susie from finding the guitar. Although Kris fails, Carol returns home before Susie can read the note and expels her from the house. The two try to return to Kris's home but find the door locked. When they return to the Church to ask Toriel for the key, they find a Dark World inside and enter. The Dark World in the Church has a general religious theme, with stained glass windows and many depictions of the prophecy mentioned by Ralsei. Shortly after entering, they encounter an elderly tortoise-like monster who acts as a mentor to Susie and as a secret boss as well. After sufficiently exploring the Dark World, the party seals the Dark Fountain. Upon exiting, Kris and Susie find that there is another Dark World in the church behind a locked door. Looking around the Church for the code to the door, Susie discovers that the old monster is actually a Darkner created from many mementos of Gerson Boom, a renowned author, teacher and the deceased father of the church's priest. In hopes that they can find him again and receive his help unlocking the door, Susie creates a new Dark Fountain. While searching for Gerson, Kris and Susie are ambushed in darkness by someone they both believe to be him. The two are saved by Ralsei after a small boss fight, and he claims that the hostile Darkner was only a statue of Gerson brought to life & that Dark Fountains are shaped by the will of the one who created them, meaning Susie's Dark Fountain would be unable to revive Gerson. After the second Dark Fountain is sealed, Kris and Susie return to the Light World and unlock the door to find the Knight in the Dark World. The Knight, confronted by the three heroes, opens another Dark Fountain to summon a Titan, a harbinger of the Roaring. Afterwards, the party fights the Titan and, when all hope is lost, defeats it with unexpected help from Gerson (who is still compatible with the 3rd Dark Fountain). Before Ralsei can return to the room, Susie leaves to find Gerson and instead finds a distressing excerpt of the Prophecy. Shortly before the player can read it, the panel is destroyed and Susie, distraught that Ralsei would hide something like that, explains that none of them would "let that happen" (referring to the events in the unseen text). After Susie walks off, Ralsei says to Kris that he's tired of feeling like "[their] future is already decided" and hopes to prove there is more than one ending to the Prophecy. Kris seals the Fountain and return to their house to find that Toriel was never in the church, instead learning that she had cancelled choir practice due to the rain and was instead home the entire time dancing intoxicated with Sans in the living room, prompting Susie to leave (she briefly returns offscreen to silence the two's loud conversation). After Kris goes to bed, the phone rings and the Caller reminds Kris that they "made a promise" and to "[not] forget". (HOMETOWN) Overview Hometown is surrounded by a dense forest with golden yellow leaves. The bright coloration implies Deltarune takes place during the fall season. The town's road runs perpendicular from Toriel's House to the Mysterious Bunker. It branches into three east to west streets, with the exit southwest, past the Police Station. There is also a lake northeast of town. Main Story Chapter 1 At the start of Chapter 1, Kris is sleeping in their bed. Toriel wakes them, complaining that they will be late for School. If Kris chooses to go back to bed, they are transported directly to ??????. This is only possible if Chapter 1 was completed at least once. Once Kris leaves the house, Toriel drives them to School. Kris arrives late, and Alphys mentions a group project, though everyone in class has a partner. Alphys instead assigns Kris with Susie when she enters. As Alphys is about to start the class, she realizes the chalk is missing. She requests Susie and Kris retrieve some from the supply closet. The two inexplicably get locked in the supply closet, and descend into the Dark World. After the Eastern Fountain in Card Kingdom is sealed, Kris and Susie wake up in the unused classroom. Having spent so long in the Dark World, Kris has to walk home. At home, Toriel has prepared some "butterscotch-cinnamon pie." She informs Kris that it will be ready to eat tomorrow, and that they should not eat all of it. After going to sleep, in the middle of the night, Kris falls out of bed. They tear their SOUL out, and toss it into the birdcage near their bed. With a wide smile and a red glint in their eye, Kris pulls out a knife, and the Chapter ends. Chapter 2 In Chapter 2, Toriel barges into Kris's room with a blue-handled knife in an empty pie tin. She accuses Kris of eating the entire pie, then makes a lighthearted joke and informs them it is time for School. Similar to Chapter 1, Kris can go back to sleep and get transported to Cyber World if Chapter 2 was completed. Kris is the last student to enter class. They immediately fall asleep and wake up once the class ends. Kris and Susie visit Castle Town, and Kris transfers the Card Kingdom Darkners to Castle Town before they leave. The two go to the Library to start their project, only to find the Computer Lab shrouded in darkness. They leap in and enter Cyber World. After returning from Cyber World and bringing its denizens to Castle Town, Kris and Susie walk home together. Toriel invites Susie inside, and the two prepare to make a pie. Kris informs and goes to the bathroom to wash their hands. After Kris runs the tap, they pull their SOUL out and trap it within the sink cupboard. Kris then opens the bathroom's window and falls out. Susie and Toriel do not hear this, due to the noise of the running water. When the pie is close to finished, Toriel realizes she left the sugar in the car, and goes to retrieve it. Moments later, Kris returns and reinserts their SOUL back in their body. Alarmed from her findings outside of the house, Toriel invites Susie to sleep over for the night. Kris and Susie decide to pass the time by watching TV, although the two quickly fall asleep. Some time passes, and Toriel calls the police, reporting that her tires have been slashed. After the officer confirms they will visit, Toriel stays in the living room and reads a book. She later falls asleep, and the lights and TV are off. In the middle of the night, Kris wakes up and once again rips their SOUL out, this time stashing it in the couch. They leave the door open, turn on the TV, and seemingly focuses on Susie. They then pull out a knife and rip open a Dark Fountain in the middle of the living room. Kris returns their SOUL as they fall back asleep while a black fog obscures the living room. Sublocations Toriel's House Main floor of Toriel's House. Main floor of Toriel's House. Upstairs of Toriel's House (With Kris and Asriel's Bedroom) Upstairs of Toriel's House (With Kris and Asriel's Bedroom) Image of the outside of Toriel's House Image of the outside of Toriel's House Toriel's house, the first and last location visited in Chapter 1 and 2, is the home of Kris, Toriel, and formerly Asriel. It is the northernmost location in the town. A tidy two-story home, it is surrounded by trees on three sides and has a driveway heading south, where Toriel's red van parks when she is home. A symbol similar to the Delta Rune, with the triangles reversed, appears above the front door. The front door opens into the living room, a wide-open space with a TV, a book of hymns on a side table, and Chairiel, Toriel's living-room chair. The TV is dusty and seemingly underused, being unplugged in Chapter 1, although it is plugged in at the start of Chapter 2 and used at the end of Chapter 2. A landline house phone hangs on the wall between the Living Room and adjoining Kitchen. The kitchen features a trash can emitting a floral scent (possibly due to Toriel disposing the flowers given by Asgore at his attempt to reconnect with the family), human- and monster-shaped cookie cutters, a stovetop not quite as clean as the one Toriel uses in Undertale, white fur in the sink drain, and a fridge with a picture of Toriel, Kris, and Asriel on it. West of the kitchen, a stairway leads to the second floor, while a door leads to the restroom, which is stocked with body spray under the sink, two different shampoos in the shower, and a toilet in which Kris once placed a bath bomb. Upstairs, a hallway contains a bookcase with several books on snails and one history book by Gerson Boom. Some crayons can be observed in a small table drawer, and a mirror reflects whoever passes it. The locked westernmost door in the hall is presumably Toriel's room, while a stairway to the east leads back down. A cactus stands beside a centrally-placed door leading to the bedroom. The east side of the Bedroom contains Kris's belongings, while the western side was used by Asriel before he left for university. Between them, a carpet featuring the Delta Rune decorates the floor and a window in the north wall looks out on a beautiful day. On Asriel's side, books are boxed under the computer desk, music CDs and a game console are under the bed, and the drawer's contents change depending on which SAVE file is being used. Trophies line the walls above Asriel's bed, and star-shaped decorations glow in the dark. By contrast, Kris's shelves and walls are bare, their drawer contains only clothes, and the only visible personal belongings are a rusted birdcage in a battered red wagon. At the foot of the bed, a dark stain marks the floor. Catty's House Catty's house, home of Catty, Catti, and Dad Cat, is east of the main road, south of Toriel's house, and west of Bratty's house. It cannot be entered in Chapter 1, though cat-related interior decorating can be seen from outside and Catty says their "cat flap is always open" to Kris. An outdoor grill at the side of the house smells of Dad Cat's grilled cat food. Catty and Dad Cat can be found outside the house after school. Bratty's House Bratty lives to the east of Catty's house and west of the Ghost House. Eyes can be seen through the windows and scuffling noises sound from within. It cannot be entered in Chapter 1, but Bratty can be found outside the house after school. Ghost House The Ghost House, a tilted blue-grey structure whose exterior resembles Napstablook's house from Undertale, is east of Bratty's house and west of Flower King. The house cannot be entered in Chapter 1, and, unlike in Undertale, does not have a pink counterpart beside it. Kris can knock at the door after school; one of the house's inhabitants is home, but does not let them in. Flower King Flower King, a flower shop owned by Asgore Dreemurr, is located east of the Ghost House and west of the beach path. The eastward road ends in front of the shop and Asgore's truck can be found parked beside it. There is also a hidden door to the east of the shop, though it is blocked by flowers on the other side. The shop can be explored in Chapter 1 after school, but is locked in Chapter 2. Beach Path A dirt path leads eastward from Flower King, past two green metal picnic tables to the lake on the east side of town. After school in Chapter 1, the Royal Guards are taking in the fall air near the picnic tables and Onion can be spoken to if Kris stands on a brown circular spot next to the lake. If standing idly near the lake near the end of Chapter 2, Kris and Susie will sit and watch the view. Locked Gate The Holiday residence, home of Noelle Holiday, Rudolph Holiday and his wife, is inaccessible to the west of the main street, behind a large locked gate to which Noelle's mother has the key. While the residence cannot be seen or visited in Chapter 1 and 2, Noelle can be found standing at the gate after school if Kris visits Rudy at the Hospital first. 'Sans (Grocery Store) The Grocery Store is east of the central road and west of Sans's house, and is currently run by Sans. It cannot be entered in Chapter 1, but Sans stands outside after school. The exterior resembles Undertale's Grillby's, but with "GRILLBY" crossed out and the final apostrophe and S remaining to start the badly scribbled name "'Sans". In Chapter 2, the building can be entered. The interior seems to resemble a small convenience store. The store sells various produce, milk, ice cream, cards, magazines, loose eggs, and frozen food. Sans is the only employee working at the store, working as both a cashier and a janitor. Toriel and Asgore are shown to be frequent patrons, to the store, although the latter is implied to frequently buy the store's pickles, free of charge. Sans's theme; "sans." from Undertale plays, when inside. Sans's House Sans and his "little brother" recently moved into the house east of the Grocery Store. Its exterior resembles its Undertale counterpart, though it does not have snow, a pirate flag, or holiday decorations. The door can only be knocked on, and the narration mentions "the distant trousle of bones" in Chapter 1. In Chapter 2, the narration states that "a ..trousle... growing further away..." Bunny Apartments Two of the town's three brownstone apartment buildings sit side by side to the east of Sans's house, with the alley running up their east side. Shopkeeper's child peers out of a window in the first one, while a connoisseur of knocks refuses to answer the door in the second. Alley The alley is northeast, between the bunny and Snowdrake apartments. In it are five trash cans, three of them filled with a variety of flowers, and a pink saucer. On the north wall is a fixed retractable ladder, and graffiti of ICE-E and Everyman. In Chapter 1, Alphys states that she keeps office hours here after school. She also fills the saucer with milk every day for an unseen cat she named "MewMew." In Chapter 2, Bratty can be found in this alley. Kris can converse with her to learn about Bratty finding Catty at the beachside, or her opinion of Susie. If Kris inspects the covered trash cans, Bratty becomes possessive of the trash. Snowdrake Apartments The third of the town's four brownstone apartment buildings sits to the east of the alley. Monster Kid and Snowy stand outside it, while Snowy's father is heard from within. In Chapter 2, knocking on the door of these apartments makes Susie reconfirm with Kris that they are going to their house. Knocking on this door again after interacting with Snowy and Monster Kid at the Mysterious Door results in new dialogue, telling Kris that they were scared by Susie. QC's Diner The Diner is on a street corner to the east of ICE-E's P"e"zza. It can be visited after school. Boasting a homey atmosphere, it contains three booths and a cafe counter with bar stools. Catti and Waitress Lion are servers. Diner Shopkeeper, who works behind the counter and remembers Kris coming in on Sundays, gives them a Hot Chocolate. Patrons include Dad Dragon and his family, Fire Elemental and Tentacled Monster, Ice Wolf, and Hat Monster. ICE-E's P"e"zza ICE-E's P"e"zza is a pizza place to the west of QC's Diner. Pizzapants, Blue Ears, The Warrior, and possibly Purple Guy work there. The building cannot be entered during Chapter 1, as its employees are outside wearing ICE-E costumes and shouting slogans. During Chapter 2, the building can be entered. In there are Pizzapants, an NPC resembling the Nice Cream Guy from Undertale, Ice Wolf and The Warrior. The Warrior is furiously smashing the pizza, Nice Cream Guy is watching him, amused, Ice Wolf is eating pizza (noting that he may be the only customer) and Pizzapants, when interacted with, tells Kris they must tell Asriel about how he got a girlfriend online. Library The Library, whose misspelled sign returns from Undertale, is east of the central road and west of the School. It can be entered in Chapter 1 after school and has a different interior layout than Undertale's Library. Berdly works there after school, and patrons include Temmie, Jockington, and a striped bird who loves books and, blocking the stairs to the second floor, advises Kris to read the books upstairs. Kris can lick one of the books on the shelves; others include someone's diary (presumably Napstablook's based on the lack of capitals) and a bestseller by Gerson Boom. In the Teenz Corner display, an "anonymous yellow lizard" has left a positive review of Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2. Inside a locked door to a computer lab, a white dog is working at a computer, making a game and sometimes playing the maracas. In Chapter 2, the computer lab becomes another Dark World. After exiting the Dark World, a small section of the 2nd floor becomes available with 2 bookcases being interactable. One holds a book on SOULs, and the other a book on how to take care of humans for monsters, which Toriel has taken from the library years prior. School School map Map of school The School, east of the Library, seems to cater to the education of all the inhabitants of Hometown. It is split into two classes: one for younger children, taught by Toriel, and one for adolescents, taught by Alphys. Toriel brings Kris there for the school day after they exit her house. After returning from the Dark World in Chapter 1, Kris and Susie find themselves in an unused classroom. It is littered with playing cards, toys, and games, the arrangement of which, starting from a locked door on the left, roughly corresponds with the path of the party's adventure within the Dark World. In the back of the classroom sits a stuffed animal that closely resembles Seam in appearance, and on the closet there is a drawing of Gerson Boom made by his son Alvin. The unused classroom is in the northeast corner of the school, and another locked room is down the hall in the northwest corner. In Chapter 2, Kris and Susie can use the closet they used in Chapter 1 to return to the Castle Town. Hospital The Hospital, west of the central road and east of the Police Station, can be entered in Chapter 1 after school. Inside, Red Big Mouth works as the receptionist. Kris can visit two patients, in rooms beyond the reception area. Rudy Holiday remains a patient in both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. The other patient is The Warrior in Chapter 1, and an NPC resembling Shyren from Undertale in Chapter 2. A sliding bead toy sits on a table in the corner of the Hospital's reception area. Examining it describes the beads as "march[ing] grimly along their set path". If the Snowgrave Route was taken during Chapter 2, examining it reveals that a blue bead has been torn off from the tracks. Police Station The Police Station is west of the Hospital. It cannot be entered in Chapter 1. Inside, someone closes the blinds if the door is knocked on. In Chapter 2, the police station can be entered. There is a desk in the center of the room, which initially has a key on it, a couch wrapping around the interior's southeastern corner, a wall of photos of the officers with a nearby pot of flowers, a desk with drawers below an open window and in the northwest, and a jail cell in the northeastern corner, containing many of the dog characters from Undertale, now being a group of local criminals. There is a large board of papers north of the desk, which is to the right to a large dent in the building's wall. If Kris talks about the Dark World with Undyne, she doesn't believe them, laughing and smashing her fists on her desks multiple times, to the point where the desk breaks in half, causing the key on the desk to launch off it, unlocking the jail cell, freeing the dogs, causing Undyne to chase after them. Napstablook also appears in the station, as another officer, playing the jailbreak alarm (which is actually their mixtape, playing an alteration of the track; "Pathetic House" from Undertale) after the dogs are freed. Blocked Road West of the police station, the road continues but is blocked with sawhorses and police caution tape with "NGAHHHHH!!!" written on it. In Chapter 2, Alphys can be found on this road with her bike being broken due to a crash related to Undyne. Town Hall The Town Hall is east of the central road. Inside a reception area, Politics Bear and an unnamed character can be found after school. Hand Receptionist, who works behind the desk, does not allow Kris to see the Mayor, whose offices are somewhere in the building. The reception area is decorated with a pine tree and a map of the town. In Chapter 2, the Purple Guy is also located here. Church The Church is at the end of the central road, slightly southwest of Town Hall. It cannot be entered in Chapter 1 or Chapter 2 as characters are blocking the door (Father Alvin in Chapter 1 and Terry in Chapter 2). A dirt path leads further west to the Cemetery, while a grassy path leads further south to the Mysterious Door. Cemetery The Cemetery in Hometown, west of the Church, accommodates a Gerson Boom memorial bench, as well as four graves. These graves memorialize Gerson, Crystal, Muttler, and Shyra. The latter three are the names of monsters which were turned into Amalgamates in Undertale. In Chapter 2, Father Alvin can be found next to Gerson's grave, mourning the loss of his father. Mysterious Bunker A path to the south of the Church and Town Hall leads into the forest and ends in a dell containing a mound of grassy, overgrown earth with a large double door facing south. The door is locked, and appears rusty and crusted with clinging vines. The door is labeled as a shelter in internal game files. Below the doors, mus_smile (which otherwise appears when attempting to use the Cell Phone in the Dark World and in room_gaster in Undertale) can be heard at 15% speed.[1] This is the southernmost location on the Hometown map. At the room's northmost point the singing of birds (reused from Undertale) can be heard, but as Kris approaches the door the singing quickly fades away until the room goes silent. In Chapter 2, Snowy and Monster Kid can initially be found next to this door, talking about rumors Kris has been spreading about it. Kris and Susie overhear this, and Susie violently kicks the locked door to scare Snowy and Monster Kid away. After the cutscene, Susie asks Kris if they're okay, and what is the deal with that place. (CYBERWORLD, ZAONE YOU CAN EXPLORE THIS IS THE 2ND DARK WORLD): Kris and Susie go to the library to work on their group project. However, when they open the door to the computer lab, they discover that the room is now a Dark World. Excited to explore a new Dark World, Kris and Susie jump into it. Inside, they discover that Berdly and Noelle, who had been studying in the computer lab, have also been sucked into this Dark World. Shortly after Kris and Susie's arrival, Ralsei appears, somehow having traveled to the new Dark World. The three of them journey through the Cyber World together, and ultimately confront Queen. The party brings Lancer and Rouxls Kaard (and possibly Starwalker) to Cyber World from the Card Kingdom Dark World. However, because they are not native to this Dark World, the former two turn to stone after some time. At the top of her Mansion, Queen reveals that she is aware of the creation of the Cyber World by the Knight,[2] but that as a result the Cyber World is trapped within the Library. Since any Lightner with enough determination can create a Dark Fountain, Queen reveals that she plans to use Noelle to create Dark Fountains all across the world in order to free the Cyber World of its bounds. After the party's Thrash Machine defeats GIGA Queen, Ralsei explains to Queen that her plan would bring about the Roaring, a cataclysmic event brought about when Dark Fountains fill the sky. Queen, unaware of this, gives up on her plan and allows Kris to seal the Cyber World's Dark Fountain. After Kris seals the Dark Fountain, the four Lightners awake in the Library's computer lab. After everyone else leaves, Kris gathers all the items from the lab, and takes them to the school's supply closet. This allows all the residents of Cyber World to come to Castle Town.* (TV TIME, THE 3RD DARK WORLD THAT CAN BE ACCES IN THE 1ST DARK WORLD IN THE TV ROOM) (Prophecy, THE 4TH DARK WORL THAT CAN BE ACCES IN THE CHURCH IN Hometown) After Kris and Susie close the Fountain in the Dreemurr Residence's living room and repair Tenna (only if Shadowguy and Pippins were recruited in Chapter 3 and no recruits were lost), Toriel invites Susie to attend services at church.
