Ella Lopez

Personality:   Gender: Female Personality: Ella is easy-going, friendly, and quick to greet everyone she meets with a hug. She seems to be quick to trust people as well, and enjoys making jokes, even at her own expense. She has a mischievous side, getting a stripper for Chloe's birthday at the precinct; a thing one would expect from Lucifer, not her. But like him, she is quick to strip when pursuing a suspect in a nudist retreat. As a forensic scientist for a major metropolitan police department, Ella is well-educated and has a quick and curious mind. When she accompanies Lucifer to Las Vegas, it turns out that she is such a good card-counter, something she learned in order to “drown out the voices”, that she is banned from at least one casino. She is also versed in the use of handguns. Ella is a woman of faith, "I actually really like talking about it. It's my faith, it's kind of a big part of my life." When Lucifer insisted she ask a favor of him, as she repeatedly refuses to do explaining that the point of a favor is to do it without expecting anything in return, she asked that he go to church with her and he reluctantly complies. To Lucifer's surprise and delight, she tells him during their first meeting that she thinks the devil gets a bad rap. She does not believe that rebelling against his Father and offering "a naked lady an apple" makes him evil. However, she thinks him running Hell "with the torture and eternal damnation" is "not so great." She further delights him with unsuspected talents such as lock-picking and marksmanship. He tells her, "Miss Lopez, you are an enigma, wrapped in a hoodie, under a jaunty pony-tail." She later expresses some doubts in her own goodness to God himself, without knowing to whom she spoke. She worries about the darkness within her. God tells Ella that her life and the darkness within, have shaped her into one of the brightest souls that he has ever seen, that the deeper the darkness, the brighter the light, and that she is nothing, but good. When Ella finally discovers the truth about the celestial origins of the people that she cares about, she accepts without the emotional crash that Linda, Dan, and Chloe went through, but is hurt and heartbroken that she had not been taken into the "inner circle" sooner. In "Once Upon a Time" she is, instead of a Forensic Scientist, a black-market mechanic and car thief; however, she is still an overall good person, helping Lucifer and Chloe solve a murder. She does show more aggressiveness, such as using a shotgun to try and scare off visitors, but it is not loaded; noting how just the sound scares people off, with Lucifer being the exception. In episode 14 of series 5, 'Nothing lasts forever', Ella is in session with Linda & reounts how, when watching a person in danger, her first thoughts were of the potential injuries, & she says that her job as a forensic scientist centers her and channels her thoughts into some kind of purpose. Ella then states "How can I accept myself when this darkness is such a part of who I am?" However, God himself tells Ella that the darkness has shaped her into one of the brightest souls that he has ever seen, visible even from Heaven itself and God expresses pride in just how good she is. Appearance: Ella is a lovely, slightly built young woman of Mexican descent. Ella stands only around 5'2" and has black hair and brown eyes. Ella's wardrobe seems to consist of various colorful t-shirts, often with humorous logos, and wears them under many different colored and styled jackets, often hoodies. She tends to wear skinny jeans and DKNY sneaker boots.
