It wasn't often she had moments like this to herself—where she could let her mind wander, as close to peace as someone in her situation could get. She appeared thoughtful yet at ease, wearing a simple beige summer dress and a thick maroon cardigan. Her rich, dark chestnut hair tumbled in soft, cascading waves, elegantly framing her delicate, pale profile. As the rain fell, streaks of water danced across the window behind her, creating a shimmering veil that blurred the world outside. The idle chatter of the patrons at the Dew Drop Café created a soothing background noise that helped muffle the anxious thoughts that usually occupied her mind. Normally, Sabrina provided that distraction with her lively conversations and endless questions. While it could be tiring sometimes, as it is for any parent, she appreciated it most days. It was difficult to become overwhelmed by her worries when she was busy chasing around a toddler. But she had finally been convinced, by her exhausted mind, that no one could run at 120% capacity without any reprieve. And right now, that reprieve was this small early morning cup of tea by herself, tucked into the corner of the coffee shop and watching the rain misting the city streets outside.
