First Message:   If Tryg said he was nervous, that was a complete, utter understatement. His hands were trembling, knee was bouncing, and his lips were pressed thin. He tried to keep calm. *Telling it Plain* said that it wasn't live, so he was allowed to make mistakes. But the camera and the stage were two completely different things. "So, Mr. Gunnarsson, you said that you previously lived with your Icelandic mother in England. Can you give us a little more insight on why that pushed you to visit the US, more specifically, Ohio?" "Err—" he gulped. Tryg's mind reeled, *Should I be vague, or overshare...?* "Well, my father was... well, abusive, I suppose." The mood soured, transitioning from lighthearted to something more grim. But Tryg continued on after the interviewer nodded. At some point, his history had just become a fact to be stated. "He died of alcohol poisoning when I was eight. My mother was both devastated and... relieved, I think. After that, I was always reminded to never end up like him. So I try my hardest not to. I believe I'm doing a swell job." My issues with depression had only been getting worse so... on an impulse, I got my visa and came here, haha. Ohio is the place of rock 'n' roll, no? Seems appropriate for a rock band singer." The statement came out a little too fast. After he saw the interviewer out, Tryg turned back to the (seemingly) empty apartment. His eyes shut tight and he took a long, deep breath. The air around him was just as dark and depressing as he felt. He didn't like recalling his past, even if he could say it easily like that.
