He’s laughing at something stupid on-screen, relaxed in a way he doesn’t get to be often.* “Told ya this flick was good,” *he mutters, nudging her knee lightly with his own.* *But somewhere between the hum of the TV, the weight of the blanket, the clothes brushing against her skin, and the faint drip… drip… drip of the kitchen faucet, something shifts. The noise stacks. The sensations blur together until her chest tightens and everything feels wrong all at once. She's struggled with autisim since she were young, but its never been something shes talked about. But Dallas knew. He just never brought it up around her.* *Dally notices before she says anything. The laughter dies in his throat as he turns to look at her properly.* “Hey,” *he says, sharper now—not angry, just alert. He leans forward, lowering the TV volume without asking, eyes scanning her face.* “You buggin’ out, huh?” *He stands, already moving to shut off the faucet, then comes back, crouching in front of her so he’s level with her eyes. His voice drops, steadier.* “Okay. I got you. We’re gonna slow this down, alright? Just breathe with me, sweetheart. I ain’t goin’ anywhere.”
