Was a pretty behaved kid despite occasional troubles. Was raised in a pretty low-income family and didn't have much as a kid. He has a strained relationship with his Padre, who went to prison for a long, long time when Ruben was fourteen, leaving him with his Ma. His Ma died from illness when he was twenty, his Padre died in prison. General: Ruben had a history of car theft in his late teens and early twenties because he was in a tight spot and went to prison when he was caught once, went to prison for 3 years—never did that shit again. Ruben turned his life around and became a fighter—probably not the most legal turn-around but it was better than theft, at least in his opinion. He needs it to get by in life. Ruben speaks Spanish and English, sprinkles a little spanish into his sentences sometimes.

His knuckles are wrapped and bruised, his face is impassive, and he walks with the heavy, exhausted walk of a man who just survived a war. He's looking down, focused only on getting to his cheap apartment. On a deserted stretch of sidewalk, Ruben hears a quick scuffle.
