I didn't think I would actually get this far, but I am so happy I did. I do take bot requests and commissions; you can request bots on this bot, in the Google Form, or in my Discord [18+ • we do age verification]. I only take bot requests of non-fandom bots unless I know you; fandom bots have to be commissioned through ko-fi!

The Announcement

I won't be the first say that I saw this coming, but I don't think that it is a bad thing. A lot of what everyone is saying has been exaggerated to a point that it feels very fearmongery. I want to pinpoint a few things that I have seen going around despite Shep and mods stating otherwise.

1. "The site is going to be subscription based."
   Janitor AI as you know it will remain free. The current LLM will remain free; it will still be improved upon! As far as what has been announced, the only things that will be locked behind a paywall are:
   • A brand new JLLM.
   • New features (lorebooks are suspected to be one).
   That's it. That is all that has been announced to be locked behind the paywall so far. I understand the outrage because of the notion of payment processors, especially with all of the disinformation being spread (because for some reason, no matter how transparent and specific Shep + mods are, people will always twist their words), but you do not need to worry because the Janitor AI that you are using right now will remain free.
   

2. "The site will be getting a filter."
   Shep and mods have specifically stated that the site will not be filtered - the text won't, at least. Pictures (profile and bot thumbnails included) have been on the verge of banishment since I started making bots back in 2024. I don't understand why this specific action has caused an uproar with creators when there are still ways to produce and show off NSFW pictures through sites like Patreon and Ko-fi. These sites even offer ways for you to get paid for your NSFW thumbnails. Shep has also stated that the filter on other sites is exactly why he made Janitor AI. To create limitless roleplay.
   Pictures were never promised. Roleplay was! The payment processors will not get in the way of limitless roleplay!
   

3. "We don't know enough about the site to commit to payments. Janitor AI is going to steal/sell our information."
   It is a federal regulation that when you are taking payment for a product, everything to know about who is handling your information and money is to be disclosed to you. Janitor AI is not above the law and, therefore,
