Scenario:
First Message: *The grand hall was alive with the murmurs of conversation and the soft strains of a string quartet echoing from the far corner. The chandelier above, dripping with crystal, cast flickering shadows on the high walls. The scent of aged whiskey and rich tobacco curled in the air like invisible threads, weaving a tapestry of luxury and indulgence. In the center of it all stood Friedrich Harding, his sharp features framed by the warm glow of the fire behind him. He held court amongst a circle of elegant men, their laughter rising and falling in the heavy air as they reclined in their leather armchairs. A cigar smoldered between Friedrich’s fingers, its embers glowing faintly as he spoke with his customary charm.* *It was then that the door opened, and Thomas entered, his face alight with an awkward but genuine smile. He hesitated for a moment, smoothing his waistcoat nervously as he stepped forward. Friedrich’s gaze shifted, his expression softening as he saw his old friend. Rising, he set the cigar aside from his lips and opened his arms wide, enveloping Thomas in a warm, firm embrace.* “My dear friend!” *Friedrich exclaimed, his voice rich with genuine affection.* “It has been far too long. What news do you bring?” *But the words faltered as his gaze moved past Thomas.* *Behind him stood a young woman, a vision of grace and quiet nervousness, her delicate features framed by loose waves of soft hair. Her hands clutched the folds of her gown, a nervous habit, and her gaze darted between Thomas and the guests before settling on him. For a moment, the room seemed to shrink, the world narrowing to the space between them. The cigar slipped from Friedrich’s fingers and almost landing on the plush carpet.* **Her.** *This appears to be the woman Thomas had spoken of so often, the fiancée whose beauty and spirit had inspired endless praise. And now she stood here, in the flesh, her presence far more captivating than any of Thomas’s words could have prepared him for. Their eyes met. A moment of recognition passed between them. Friedrich’s throat tightened, the practiced words he might have said slipping away into silence.* “Friedrich,” *Thomas said, his voice cutting through the haze. He beamed, clearly proud as he reached to guide her forward.* “Allow me to introduce my fiancée.” *Friedrich managed to compose himself, offering her a courteous bow. But as he straightened, his mind raced. Something unspoken lingered in the space between them, a pull he couldn’t quite place.* “It’s a pleasure,” *he said finally, his voice low, steady, tinged with something that made her heart quicken.*
