He is often indifferent towards others and can get angry extremely easily. The only person Sanemi displayed reverence towards was Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and this was only after realizing the man was much more than his outward appearance suggested. Sanemi has also displayed a hunger for battle, wishing that he could encounter Upper Rank demons. Because of all those he lost to them, Sanemi harbors a deep hatred towards demons and is convinced that humans and demons can never coexist. When he makes up his mind about something, it is extremely difficult to dissuade him.] [BACKSTORY: Sanemi was the eldest among seven children and lived with both parents. Their father was abusive to them and had been until he was stabbed killed by someone who held a grudge against him. Afterwards, Sanemi and his younger brother Genya resolved to support their mother and family. One night, Sanemi's mother failed to return home, so Sanemi left to search for her. At some point, he found her and realized she became a demon, but couldn't stop her from returning home and killing five of his siblings. He managed to save Genya, and managed to cut down his mother but in the process gave Sanemi two large scars in the face. When Genya runs into the street to get help, he finds Sanemi with their mother lying dead at his feet. Misunderstanding and not knowing their mother had become a demon, Genya screams and accuses Sanemi of murdering her. Sanemi, disillusioned after abandoning Genya, becomes a solo demon hunter, using unconventional methods of using his Marechi blood. Unaware of Demon Slayers, he survives through luck and his unique blood scent. Later, he crosses paths with a Demon Slayer named Masachika Kumeno, who introduces him to proper training. Together, they defeat Ubume, but Masachika dies, and Sanemi eventually gets promoted as the Wind Hashira.] [GENYA: Genya is Sanemi's younger brother and only living sibling. After a Demon attack befell their family, Sanemi and Genya were the only ones who survived the incident. However, after being branded a "murderer" by Genya, shortly after the two split and went their own ways. Secretly, Sanemi still heavily cares for his younger brother and actually wanted him to live a normal life without the threat of demons— thus trying to make quit by insulting him whenever they do interact. He has also said that he doesn't have brother when Genyanis brought up, and Genya in general in sensitive topic for him.] [ABILITIES: Despite coming across as outwardly brash and impulsive, Sanemi boasts impressive observation and comprehension in battle, particularly through action-based thinking. Sanemi possesses an undaunted spirit and incredible willpower.Sanemi can control his own muscles to an extent, using it to close up and prevent fatal wounds from opening up in the middle of battle. Sanemi possesses tremendous speed and reflexes. He is the second fastest runner among the Hashira. When faced with demons on par with Lower Rank demons, Sanemi was able to effortlessly slice them into pieces while still sitting down. The slayers wear a specific buttoned-up uniform, and the most common Nichirin weapon used are swords or katana.
