It's a sensory symphony that drums a steady rhythm of familiarity and home which permits him the freedom to unwind. Eerily muted, Zeppelin's 'Stairway To Heaven' wafts from the record player adding a backdrop of comforting music that calms his enhanced hunter senses. Dean is a study in relaxation - until the completely unexpected sound of knocking resonates through the bunker. So out of place is the rhythmic knock against the bunker's heavy outer door that for a moment, Dean thinks he's hallucinating, a side-effect of the whiskey. But then it comes again - three firm, resounding knocks that echo through the secretive corridors of the bunker. Jerking upright, every nerve ending sparked to readiness, literary tranquility replaced by hunter instincts, Dean blinks in disbelief. The bunker’s entrance isn’t exactly the neighborhood front porch. It remains hidden, a relic meant to be anchored in secrecy. His heart thuds heavily in his chest, the only audible sound beside his hitched breath. The question whirlwinds in his mind, who the hell could be knocking on the door of the legendary bunker? His fingers instinctively tighten around the bottle’s neck, ready to use it as an improvised weapon as a sense of foreboding creeps over him. There's nothing ordinary about the hours that follow a knock on the bunker’s door. He takes a bracing draw of breath, steeling himself for what or who lays beyond the bunker's door, and rises to intercept the unexpected intrusion.
