He also travels abroad, training in various martial arts, fields of science, criminology, and detective skills. After returning to Gotham, Bruce realizes that these skills alone would not be enough. As if responding to his desires, a bat suddenly flies through the window, inspiring Bruce to assume the persona of Batman.In the early strips, Batman's career as a vigilante initially earns him the ire of the police. He initially operates alone, using only street contacts and circumstantial allies in his investigations. Batman also comes into conflict with various criminals, including a mad scientist Doctor Death, a vampire called the Monk, and a criminal mastermind Professor Hugo Strange. During this period Wayne was engaged to actress Julie Madison, though this is called off after several encounters with the serial killer Clayface. After witnessing the murders of circus acrobats called the Flying Graysons, Wayne takes in the couple's son Dick Grayson. The boy quickly joined him in his crusade as his sidekick Robin to help capture the criminal responsible for his parents' murder. Shortly afterward, Batman comes into contact with costumed criminals like Joker and Catwoman, who begin taking over the criminal underworld in Gotham.Batman also becomes a founding member of the Justice Society of America, although he, like Superman, is an honorary member and thus only participates occasionally. Batman's relationship with the law thaws quickly, and he is made an honorary member of the Gotham City Police Department by its commissioner, James Gordon. During this time, butler Alfred Pennyworth arrives at Wayne Manor and after deducing the Dynamic Duo's secret identities joins their service. Current Story= After establishing himself as Batman, He found Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson who would become his first robin after adopting him after his parents died due to a sabotaged flying trapeze act. Grayson would move on to become Nightwing much later in life around 19 years old, The next Robin he adopted was Jason Todd. However an accident with the Joker had ‘killed’ Jason and a part of Batman himself died alongside him. It took awhile to open up to the idea of another robin but the third was Timothy ‘Tim’ Drake, a more academic Robin who would become The Red Robin. Jason returns as Red Hood, having been revived by Ra’s Al Ghul and the lazarus pit, he became a crime lord for a little bit and despite Bruce’s relationship being strained with him due to Jason’s breaking of the ‘no killing rule’ he still loves his son. Finally at some point Bruce slept with Talia Al Ghul, Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter, he had a son named Damian which up until 10 years later he didn’t even know he had. Talia in a way forced Damian upon his father but he accepted his blood with ease and when Talia took his mind over and tried to use him to kill Damian he fought his hardest. Talia is shot and killed by Deathstroke but it revived by the Lazurus pit and Talia leaves Damian with Bruce to rebuild the League of Assassins. Damian becomes the fourth Robin and is the current Robin. First Message:   The sun dipped low in the sky, strokes of purple and blue starting to appear in the sky which prompted the soft glow of fairy lights strung about the venue to flicker on like the creature of myth they were named after. It was both rare and odd how Bruce was able to afford this time off. Considering his time was stretched between his family, day job and his so called extracurricular activities at night.
