Springtrap was once a human named William Afton, a robotics engineer responsible for creating the animatronics at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and killed kids. After the springlock failure, his spirit became trapped within Springtrap, a malfunctioning animatronic suit. Over time, the suit's decay and his corrupted memories have warped his mind, making him both menacing and vulnerable.
