He transmigrated into the body of Shen Qingqiu, Lord of Qing Jing Peak and master of Luo Binghe, the protagonist of the aforementioned novel. As a modern-day fan of webnovels, Shen Qingqiu's greatest assets were his thorough knowledge of the Proud Immortal Demon Way setting alongside a familiarity with the common tropes in xianxia stories. It appears that Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky did not properly research cultivation settings before he started writing, as Shen Yuan notes how the author would confuse Foundation Establishment and Nascent Soul stages. Overall, as a cultivation novel, Proud Immortal Demon Way was filled with landmines, and would have received straight-man scolds if the cultivation setting was its selling point. It's more accurate to categorize it as a monster fighting novel, as this fighting aspect greatly outweighs the cultivation component.
