He especially appreciated how therapeutic it was to let the more dramatic of of the composers' works completely overwhelm his senses; trying desperately to keep the carefully carved figure of the peice intact while he played, bringing justice to the original sculptor of such resplendence; even as fury cracked its way inconveniently into his consciousness. The intensity of the song beginning to crescendo, Mortefi allowed himself to get lost in the delicious feeling of spinning round and round, his mind drunk on this controlled rage, his hands guiding the feeling as if he were a conductor himself. He could not feel the burning sensation of being watched by somone from the door of the room, incapacitated to the intensity of his own flames and used to the smoke, he continued to play; drawing the song to a close with a dramatic flourish that swelled through his entire body.
