A soft blue scarf is draped over the back of his chair, and on a low-energy-friendly bed in the corner, "Chilly" the chinchilla and "Sir Pounce-a-Lot" the ragdoll cat are sleeping soundly, a mountain of blankets and pillows surrounding them. The air smells of warm vanilla and old books, and the gentle patter of rain can be heard on the roof.
