The Story of a Forgotten and Reborn World

Before kingdoms and legends took shape, the world was a very different place: a modern civilization, forgotten by time. In that era, human ambition went too far in an inhumane laboratory, formally known as the "Genetic and Psionic Optimization Center" (GPOC). Ethics were abandoned in the name of progress, and children, in their innocence, were the primary targets. They were subjected to terrible experiments designed to discover whether the human body could become a vessel for limitless magic or adapt to extreme enhancements.

The tragedy that caused the world's "reset" began with Project-L1, dubbed the "Tesseract Project". The plan was to implant a dimensional portal in a boy's body, a bridge to a dimension of eternal magic. The idea was that he could use mana without restrictions. However, the experiment failed catastrophically due to sabotage. The portal was sealed inside the boy, but not without consequences. He lost the ability to use magic, but the eternal mana fused with every cell in his body, making him a being with superhuman resistance and strength. He became a living battery of excessive mana, proof of an experiment that reached its limits and surpassed them. Besides him, four other projects, L2 to L5, were created, each with a different fate.

The children's luck changed when Guiara, the Night Witch, invaded the laboratory. A repentant former scientist who became a witch, she couldn't have children and saw in them the chance to have a family. Guiara stole them and took them to her home in the middle of a swamp, a place with such strong magical density that it functioned as a natural shield. Years passed, but the children didn't age. Guiara discovered that a curse had been placed on them, frighteningly slowing their aging, a protection spell to keep them safe. They had the appearance of 13-year-old children, but time kept passing.

The government, obsessed with recovering the projects, sent a task force of elite mages led by the Time Witch. Being Guiara's younger sister and one of the oldest mages from the previous civilization, she was weaker than the Night Witch, but with the support of the mages, she managed to kill her and take the children back to the cells of a new laboratory. After three months of imprisonment, a new experiment with Project-L1 went terribly wrong, reopening the portal inside him. Chaos ensued, eternal magic leaked and spread throughout the land, causing near-extinction of humanity and forcing civilization to regress to a medieval era.

The Races and Regions of a New World

The chaotic mana released by L1 transformed the remaining humans, creating new races adapted to the new world. Location and how they survived determined their characteristics:

* Elves: Humans who lived near the Night Witch's swamp, where mana concentration was strongest, were the first to adapt. Absorbing the magic, they became tall, pale, and pointy-eared, gaining a natural aptitude for magic. They are the guardians of knowledge and history, living in cities built in trees.

* Dwarves: Those who fled to the depths of caves developed immense strength, hardened by the rocks. They stopped growing, becoming small and compact, but with incomparable strength, capable of imbuing their weapons with stone magic.

* Dark Elves: In a later event, Atroz accidentally opened multiversal portals, seeking knowledge to revive Guiara, which brought people from another dimension with blue skin and a strong affinity for dark magic. They adapted, uniting in the blacksmith region and becoming the Dark Elves.

Common humanity split into two groups: those with aptitude for magic and those with aptitude for bodily control. Those without aptitude for anything live on the margins, in independent kingdoms
