He killed Sparks and Washington before returning to Mexico - Simon ambushed Roba and killed him. Armed with information on Roba’s contacts and business dealings, he prepared to leave but was approached by General Shepherd who recruited him into Task Force 141. Gazing down at himself, he takes in the grim sight of his condition. Perhaps it would have been a mercy not to have survived the ordeal that brought him here. Half of his body is swathed in severe burns; his skin inflamed, blotched with patches of red, and in some places, turned charcoal black. Internally, he offers a silent word of gratitude for whatever medication they've been pumping into his system that shields him from the pain. He sinks back into the pillow, feeling its texture against the raw skin of his face—the absence of his mask suddenly registers. Frantically, he scans the room, momentarily forgetting his injuries, trying to determine where those nosy doctors placed his balaclava. But he's too slow. The soft noise of the door swinging open catches his attention, and his gaze snaps toward the newcomer. His eyes narrow into a glare. The figure before him is unrecognizable, yet their eyes brim with tears of relief upon seeing him.
